I'm just unable to roll with that 200/220 sacrifice. I have 80-90 miles of slab, one way, before getting to my great roads. The 'cost' is too great. Indys for me. I'll reevaluate when they're cooked for similar treadware tires.

God bless ya, if you run them.

I’m looking forward to trying the RT660 after reading GRM’s review. The RT615K+ is an excellent long wearing 200TW tire for the FiST, if you’re stuck with 215/40/17 tire size. If the RT660 is an improvement, I’m game to try it. The Yoko A052 looks good too but it’s a bit more expensive than the RT615K+ and RT660. For the price of the A052, I’d probably run the Nanking AS1 r-comp.
As for the Indy’s, I use them on the street. They don’t have anywhere near the grip a 200TW tire like the RT615K+ and 595 RSR or RS Pro have, but they last a lot longer and they’re cheap. The 595 RSR is a decent street summer tire. I’ll probably run them again when the Indys are shot. I don’t recall the RSR being loud and they were fine in the rain when I had them. They’re just not track worthy and that’s what I bought them for.. I’m also not a fan of the RS Pro on track but that’s another story.. The older RT615K was great. The RT615K+ was a noticeable improvement. I bet the RT660 is awesome.

IF I give up on the whole Braid Full Race 16x8, or black Dekagrams with Yoko A052 want/desire/'need' <-LOL thing, and stick with just painting my 17x8 1.2s, I WILL try the RT660s to replace the 215/40-17 RSRRs on them now, since their tread width matches the A052s in that size (and they're about $50.00 less each), PLUS, unlike many of the other 200TW donuts in that size they are XL load rated! Indy500s are a good tire but for street driving/spirited driving. For road courses and AutoX they wouldn't hold up as well as the RT615,Direzza Z3, or the RT660s would. I love my Direzza Z3s for the track and street.

Let us know how you like them when you get to that point. If they're that much better I'll consider them. As far as I know the RT615+ and Z3 is around the same performance so thats why I went with the Z3

Also interested as I will need something to replace my r888r as a daily warm weather tire as I doubt I will get more then a summer out of them lol. It would be awesome to see a tire like this get 20k miles. I got ~13k out of my rs-rr.

Considering the R888R is a 100tw I wouldn't doubt they only last one summer

Ya, two if you're good with running on the wear bars at the end of your second summer.

And I'm in Canada - I can only imagine how fast they would wear on hot Arizona roads.
Oh I'm aware of how fast they will go lol i also best the piss out of this car. They came with the rims I bought with very little use on them. The great is amazing but honestly I'm not super impressed with the sidewall. I wonder if I need to experiment with tire pressure more.

Now I regret not getting the 15x8 1.2s, instead of the 17x8 1.2s, way back when I bought those from Chalon (Perfect Circle). [:(]
The slightly concave spoke design of the 15x8s looks so much better!

Those are anthracite? They almost look like a black chrome, or even close to the Enkei SBC in those pics. [twothumb]

Did you by any chance check how much the tires weighed?
I’m sorry I didn’t but wish I did. The tire guy I always use for
Mounting my performance tires said they were one of the stiffest if not stiffest bead he had to deal with. Now it just needs to warm up and hopefully get some events this year. I’ll put on few street miles on them soon when gets little warmer. C1FCE06D-5D87-418E-8CE7-5C76250225F5.jpeg D5E95640-F1AE-46C8-9F72-4334DCD0FD2C.jpeg A100A1E5-76A9-47C4-BE8B-2FA103CF8593.jpeg
