Has Anyone used a Quickstrut assembly to replace stock suspension?

Has anyone used a quick strut assembly to replace the stock suspension? If so, how did it compare to stock? Is it possible to get a the oem in a full assembly?

Are you just not wanting to deal with the spring compressor? Or do your springs have a bunch of miles on them?

New Mechanic I’m taking it to normally uses quick struts for time and cost. I told them I’d prefer oem if possible because I can only imagine the ST with body roll or a bounce ride with the torsion beam rear end and and short wheel base. Also I swear after 7.5 years and 75000 miles everything is stiff in the cold. I swear the damper fluid was freezing in the winter or at least ridiculously thick in cold weather. The stock dampening kind of sucks from the factory too. Wish bilstein a made a complete assembly.

All the quickstrut assemblies I see in a quick search come up as interchange matching the base model Fiesta, not the ST

If that’s the case, I would highly recommend against it, especially if you’re replacing one nor two for some reason. The spring rates and damping will be softer and won’t match the ST, nor will the ride height match.

Spring compressor really isn’t that much of a big deal as long as you are using it in a safe manner. You can even rent one at your local auto parts store for a few bucks.

I had the same issue year and a half ago, as I didn't want to deal with compressing the springs and didn't want OEM. I rolled the dice and went with Raceland coil overs. They have a lifetime warranty and have been trouble free for the past 18 months. A 1 inch drops makes for improved handling which is so nice. The only complaint is the ride isn't any stiffer over the stock setup.

Sounds like he's wanting to get it done fast to get on to the next job. See if he'll take a bit of extra money to put your stock springs on Bilsteins or Konis. Or knock out the job yourself i you have the time/space to do so. It's not too hard to do.

I personally tried the quick struts in the front on my 2015. Hit one pothole and broke the upper bearing. Replaced it on warranty. Broke again. Bought OEM parts and haven't had any issues since.
