One of the very best looking of the 'cute utes' out there, and almost just a larger hot hatch in size, so, not too bad! [:)]

Offer a real manual, and a great AWD system, and I would consider this as a possibility in the future. [wink] [driving]

I’m gonna tell my cousin about this! She used to drive a Non-turbo Veloster until it got totaled by a drunk driver. She’s been driving her hand me down 2000 Accent since... she want to buy a Kona next.

She really likes Hyundais!

This could be EPIC...but I suspect it might not get the manual we'd hope for since they are doing the DCT for the Veloster N. I'll keep hope alive though since Hyundai has been rocking it as of late for us manual loving car enthusiasts...unlike other car manufacturers who turned their finger up to us (FORD and others).

Our family debated one of these before we opted for a 2018 Forester XT Limited. Great feeling car to sit and ride in. Our only complaint we how dull the interior felt if you didn't get the ugly green version.

Turbo, crossover, awd, locking diff, heated seats, heated wheel, and sporty feel were here requirements. It's the only car in the $30k price range that met those needs.

I'm perfectly okay with a DCT transmission.
It makes it much easier for me to be able to have a performance vehicle because my wife and I can both use it. She is not great at a manual transmission and her being comfortable is important to me. The Fiesta ST is never going anywhere it's death do us part.

I say the more options the better.

Same here. I rather enjoy my wifes Kia Soul with the 1.6-liter turbocharged 201-hp engine and 7-speed DCT. It's powerful and shifts better than any automatic. I love my FiST but she can't drive manual. Having both covers our needs.

Is the 7 speed a dry clutch?

The new 8 speed is a wet clutch. The Hyundai Veloster N equipped with it will offer a little bit more factory torque output due to its ability to handle it horsepower will be the same though.
It's already being used overseas in Diesel applications so hopefully it will be a good transmission.

It will definitely help Hyundai and Kia offer more performance vehicles for people that can't drive a manual.

Yes, it is a dry clutch 7-speed. It does a nice job of shifting. Much better than the old 6-speed automatic in her older non-turbo Soul. This vehicle drives so much better with more power and that DCT.

The DCT variant of the veloster N is intriguing. It may be an option someday, but the booger isn't going anywhere except to get a hybrid turbo and other performance upgrades.

If this is a Normal 1.6L Turbo Kona sitting right next to my FiST with some nicer wheels....it was actually impressive. Can't wait for the Kona N*
