With Fords announced intention to build Fiesta in Cautitlan until May of 2019 it stands to reason that they may just build for fleet orders and rental companies. They did that with Escort in its final year. Just a guess based on what they have done in the past.
Ford has also done very short model year builds before ending production altogether. If they do fleet builds only, it should not be surprising to see manual transmission Fiesta go extinct.

Don't kid yourself. The Mazda 3 sedan 2.5 L 6 spd. manual is a sweet ride. Mazda have nice driver-in-mind vehicles, not just their Miata. They have a feel somewhat like our FiST's, and not even in the same league, but a feel that you don't get with the other Japanese manufacturers, some Honda's stand alone.
Take a check ride, I think you'll be surprised for a nice sedan. And the others don't have much to offer with a manual (less SI) compared to a loaded Mazda 3 sedan.
