So the short of it is that my Left leg is out of commission. It may be repairable in 1-2 years but right now its braced solid and I have no use except my ankle down. in 2 months we remove the brace and start reconstructive surgery's to see what use we can get out of the leg. I am hoping to drive again maybe in 6 months.

I am not sure there is anything that I can do to keep the ST but I would like to try to make it work. I will have to be able to get in and out of the car into a wheel chair or walker. Anyone have any ideas?

no paddle shift available manual only ST with Recaros I may be screwed into a different car like a VW Golf sport wagon but I love my ST.

anyone else have mobility issues that can get in and out of this car into a wheel chair they can get into place themselves?

No ideas, but I just want to say I hope operations are successful and get to enjoy your ST again!

Sorry to here this.
You say it is your left leg, so that is throttle and brake.
They do make devices for that already.
I am sure that something can be adapted to your car.
Even the possibility of adapting motorcycle controls.

I have always thought that the clutch (I know you don't need) could be worked with motorcycle controls.

I have seen drivers with no legs control a car and even one with no arms at all helped.
I am sure something can be done.

Good Luck,
Dave

Had a teacher with the same issue some years ago. She had a base installed under her seat that allowed it to swivel out. Don't know the actual name of it or if its even possible with the space in the FiST, but definitely something worth googling (or binging, if you're into that).

This is what it looked like. At the very bottom of the seat you can see the base. You could probably even build one yourself. All you have to do then is just slide down into the wheelchair.

Sorry to hear this; hope everything works out.

I think it's the other left leg, the one that operates the clutch.

Damm !!! what was I thinking? [8]

Well I still think a motorcycle lever and master could be adapted and mounted to the gear shift lever so the clutch could be operated while shifting.

yea its the clutch leg. I'm hoping in a few months I will be strong enough to work clutch but will probably have to remove passenger seat so I can get a disassembled wheel chair in the car
