Yup, I'm ANCIENT!

But it IS sad how the Island keeps losing motorsports facilities with every passing year; Long island Dragway in Southampton, Islip Speedway, and most tragically of all, the legendary Bridgehampton road race circuit which was one of the best in this whole country. [:(]

Yea Bridge was amazing, but scary, did a few moto laps there right before it closed.. I remember the drag-strip in Westhampton for sure. They are actually in talks currently about using part of the former Grumman property for a drag strip, time will tell on that one.

IF there were no LEOs around, the Old Montauk Highway from where it branches off of 27 to just about where it rejoins 27.

This stretch of road would make THE most INSANE tarmac rally stage on Earth if it were totally shut down and ALL driveways/cross streets were forcefully marshaled!!

The WRC cars would be airborne, and landing NOT parallel to the road (due to turns at the crests!), more than half the time!! LOL [ohcrap] [driving]

Congratulations hombre!

I know tons of back roads here on LI, as I've been riding them with my sportbikes for 20 years with groups of people on Sunday rides. It would be cool to get a group of us together.

Years back, when I had my 04 GTO, we'd have people come from CT, NJ, Mass all over, haha, to meet up for a course out East or Upstate. Been a bit but it would be fun to start up the car tours again..

I go camping there at Hither Hills nearly every summer, love Old MHway, and you are correct, with those crests and sharp turns it is a blast. I have a memorable moto ride in mind with a friend that has moved on to the next life where we had such a blast ripping down that road on our sport bikes years back.. There are so many roads to string together on LI, to make a really fun course.

I go visit my brother every few weeks in Hunt village, fun back roads over by you as well, heading to Cold Spring Harbor etc, I'm sure you know them all better than I.
