Overheating warning

Sometimes when I am idling, like in a drive through, the overheating (red light) will come on all of the sudden and coolant temp will read hot. I restart the car an everything is normal, except check engine light which goes away after a couple of days.

I couldn’t find anything on this particular issue, because my search usually returns actual overheating problems. I think that a sensor is going bad but I’m not sure which one. When I scanned it at autozone I think the error code read that the cylinder head overheated, it may have been specific cylinders but I don’t remember.

Which sensors could it be, and how can I test them?

Are you low on coolant? What year is your car?

Coolant level normal and stable. It’s a 2014, I’m aware of the overheating issues. The related recall has already been performed on this car. I really think it’s a sensor.
