I've got 30,000 miles on my 14 fist and have been having some brake noise. Sounds like grinding in the rear. Took the pads out today and looks like there is tons of pad left. Noise is worse when I pull the e brake. Rotors look good too. Anyone else have brake noise issues?

Brake clean and maybe a scotch bright pad and clean the pads amd rotors

Mine has made this grinding noise since brand new. Been in once and found nothing. Checked my brakes today when swapping wheels and everything looks fine, still grinds.

Mines done it since day 1 as well, any time i use the brakes at low speed. Ive been to ford for it and they told me its normal as well. I also put it up in the air at my work to inspect and could not find an issue. My solution: turn up the radio and wait till ford addresses this issue if they ever do.

I'm wondering if my park brake is dragging/sticking? Maybe needs adjustment?

Cue the Ford service rep. Lol I've heard it once but for me that noise went away. Sounded like it was a sticky e-brake.

The brakes grinding overnight is normal due to corrosion, its the slow speed grinnd that Perfblue15 speaks of that I get.....which apparently is also normal.

Same here. It grinds whenever I don't apply enough force on the brake, specially at low speed. The grind noise is more intense if I let the car parked 24hrs or more after rainy/snowy day.

Mine does this too, only 11k on my car. Its the low speed grinding sound, I only notice it when parking or driving slowly with my radio turned down. When I went to get the oil changed I asked the tech to look at it and they said everything was fine.

Mine has done it since day one as well but i have noticed light scarring on my rear rotors in the shape of a brake pad. When i get a chance ill post up pics. They seem to be permanent no matter how hard i brake. It seems corrosion occurs very quickly with our brakes when sitting over night or after rain. Cant understand why though...is it just a bad pad/disc combination or do the pads need adjusting as they may be lightly pressing on brakes at all times causing heat build up and them welding to the disc when parking brake is engaged?

Jesus, YES.

I thought I was the only one. I did a search on this all the way back in December when I bought the car and couldn't find anything. I feel a little better knowing that I'm not crazy. Like others have stated, I've had the loud grinding brakes literally since day one. And just like SpooledUpST, my rear rotors have a very clear permanent imprint from my pads. I've been thinking about taking the car into the dealership, but after some of these comments, I don't want to waste my time if they're just going to say it's normal.

My 15 FiST has about 200 miles on it and it does it too. The brakes on this thing are amazing though and I read the pads are a little more aggressive than say a normal Focus or Fiesta.

Dumb question - maybe they are semi metallics and not ceramics like most cars which yields less noise and dust at less braking performance.

Thoughts? Could be normal.

I noticed it last night in mine. I thought I was crazy. It's more of a road growl/noisy tire noise but it's definitely the rear brakes. I only notice it at low speeds and it stops as soon as I put pressure on the brakes. Aggressive pads have a tendency to be more noisy. They aren't designed for comfort. With all of the pads I have had in my lifetime it's just the nature of the beast. The more aggressive the pad, the more noisy and dusty they are.

I've had the same noise as well since brand new. I asked the dealer to look the brakes over when I had it serviced and they said it was fine. Since my wife likes to talk when we are in the car instead of listen to the radio I will have to ask her to talk louder.
