Where are you finding 16x8 slipstreams? I've only found 16x7 and 15x7.5. I was in the market for 16in wheels and ive always liked the slips but ended up with 15x8 team dynamics and im really glad i did. Looks great even with stock suspension imo.

I was going between the same wheels. The slips or team dynamics. the 15X7.5 slips are a tad lighter but the 15x8 td pr 1.2 are stronger and wider and imo look better. I went with the pr 1.2 in matte black 15x8 +35 offset for my shadow black 16...tires are 195/55/15 bfg sport comp2....just waiting on my black lug nuts and new tpms sensors to arrive to have them mounted and installed. Should be by the weekend. I'm pumped. I too think they look awesome even with stock suspension which is good since i'm still on stock suspension for the time being. What tire pressures are everyone running in lightweight 15 inch setups? Still 39/36 like stock or similar to that or something totally different?

I did not actually find them, but I was going by past threads (the long dead, TD 1.2 16x8 NO GO 'feeler' thread mainly) I was under the impression that they were the only ones available currently in our PCD/offsets. [dunno]
(I cannot stand the way they look, and most seem to think that they are low pressure cast, so I never really looked for them. ;) )

IF the 1.2s were available even in a 7.5 width, I would go with them, since I love the way they look, but since I want to use a 215/45-16 (unlike everyone else on 16x7s using a 205/45), I get feedback that the 215s are just "too wide" in section width for the 7s from most on here, even though all of the tire spec sheets all say it is OK (but yes, probably not ideal).

Just how much turn-in response, etc. is given up with a 215/45-16 on a 16x7 FOR STREET USE ONLY (and would the 'ride' be any better than that same tire on a 7.5 or 8)??

When I was in the latter year f body scene, we were told NOT TO stretch 215/60-16 winter tires onto our factory 16x8 wheels, as it could actually ruin the tire's sidewall (yes, as well as defeat the purpose of a winter/snow tire's function).
So I guess it seems strange to me that in the FWD/sport compact worldview, a 215 HAS TO go on at least an 8" wide wheel. [???:)]

Eh, all this stuff is too variable and complex to say what is the perfect size wheel for a given tire size or vice versa. A wider wheel for a given tire size will generally give you better responsiveness, but the ride may be harsher and the wheel is heavier. That's more rotating mass for the engine to accelerate or the brakes to decelerate, so who knows what the final impact will be. That's to say nothing of the fact that actual tread width (what touches the ground) and nominal tread width (what is written on the sidewall) could be substantially different depending on the tire. Plus different tires have different sidewall stiffness. You have to think about what makes sense for you based on your needs and what is available. Unfortunately for our cars and bolt pattern, options can be a bit limited so you may have to compromise.
