There's a new update for SYNC 3, but once again, the process is irritating.

Personally, I'm getting the "MEM_ERR03" message right off the bat. The USB drive has been formatted correctly (exfat), and a master reset was done on my SYNC just prior to inserting the drive into the usb port inside the center console.

It looks like an incremental update to SYNC 3.0

I am in the process of downloading it now. Using a 32GB SandDisk fresh format to exFAT. This is the same usd drive I used for the last update without issue.

Ok so the first try failed with the same error code. Performing a complete format now instead of quick. Also going to drag and drop the files vs extract to.

It's always something...

I've never experienced a smooth installation with this system.

Tried updating with the official download and the system says it's already up to date.

Anyone know how to force the install?

Found THIS post on the Mustang forums with the work around for the system believing it is up to date.

Worked for me, might want to give it a try.

What file did you remove? The AHH file refenced in the linked post does not exist in the new download.

Got it to work Removed the fourth item (commented out with a semi-colon) and renumbered the next item from 5 to 4. Here is how it now looks

; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.14 - Only for My16 NonNav/NonEU assemblies.

[SYNCGen3.0_3.0.18093_PRODUCT]
Item1 = HB5T-14G386-THA
Open1 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THA.tar.gz
Item2 = HB5T-14G386-TBB
Open2 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TBB.tar.gz
Item3 = GB5T-14G386-SC
Open3 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-SC.tar.gz
;Item4 = JR3T-14G391-BD
;Open4 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-BD.tar.gz
Item4 = JR3T-14G381-AM
Open4 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G381-AM.tar.gz
Options = AutoInstall
[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = JR3T-14G423-BA
Open1 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G423-BA.tar.gz
Item2 = GB5T-14G386-AA
Open2 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz
Options = Delay,Include,Transaction

It ran for a while, completed and rebooted. I paniced initially because android auto didn't work. Power cycling the car fixed that. Now it is up and running at 3.0.

Please note this is for folks that are having issues with the non nav update.

Just loaded the update from Ford without modifying the download. Here's how (please proceed at your own risk):

First I used two USB drives one 8GB and one 32GB (you could use one but you will have to reformat in the middle and wait for the files to copy)

1. Formatted both drives to FAT32
2. Load the files linked on post 18 of this thread to the 8GB drive: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/mem_err03-when-trying-to-update.100437/
3. Load the files from the ford update download to the second drive.
4. Start the car plug in the drive with the mem error fix files and let the update proceed (took about 5 to 10 min).
5. Wait for notice that the install is complete then shutdown the car, remove the drive and reboot system.
6. You should receive a notice that the update was successfully installed.
7. Shutdown the car again.
8. Start the car and plug in the drive with the official ford update files.
9. Wait for notice that the install is complete then shutdown the car, LEAVE the drive plugged in and reboot system.
10. You should receive a notice that the update was successfully installed. You can verify the version in the auto update section of sync.
11. Now this part is optional but you can take the drive and complete the update registration on the my ford site.

I got this update completed this afternoon. I don't seem to have a problem when I do the updates with the USB stick. So what's different with this incremental update? Bug fixes perhaps, map updates?

So u have a new bug with this update. Yes I got it installed (seem earlier post). Now, every time I start my car, it pops a dialogue box telling me it can search for WiFi networks. How do I turn this off? I have tried disabling all wifi settings. No change.

You need to turn off automatic updates.

Settings/General/Automatic System Updates/ Slide to Off

Well I don't know any other settings. I didn't do the last update but I had the same problem as you and it was the automatic updates that was on. Did you try a reset?

I've done pretty much all leaked releases and just did this latest official release. I only ever had that WiFi bug for a few days. Didn't do anything that I can recall to get rid of it. I currently have WiFi on as well as auto update.
