SYNC update (Gen2 - 3.7)

I remember noticing you guys saying this was available about a month ago and got excited. Forgot to check back. I finally logged into my Ford account and realized this is the same version I installed on September 28, 2014. I thought there was a "new" one

I have a feeling the subject update will be the last one. The only thing I feel cheated about is the bare bones version we get in Canada. No health report, no app link, no live traffic from Sirius, it' probably because it would cost too much to implement services in both English and French. But yeah, I doubt there will be any future updates.

Yeah I agree. The sad fact of the matter is they don't give a crap about people that bought the 2015. MyFord Touch was flawed from the beginning and now they're cutting their losses and running. Only the people with the 2016 are going to get anything from here on out. Even a 2014 would be better, at least I could replace that one with an aftermarket Double DIN unit that has Android Auto.

How have you figured out how to put in an aftermarket DD HU into a 2014, I have called all the interface companies and there were not even interested in this bastard stepchild car

I love my car but Ford is being just plain stupid when it comes to this car.

I can say that because I could care less about a warranty, I just would like a DD NAV HU that was not a worthless POS like it is or at least get upgrades like back up camera enabling which would not be hard for them to provide or a decent deal on a retrofit HU worth using.

I really do love the car

After updating SYNC, my Do Not Disturb doesn't work and my steering wheel controls to hang up from a text message don't work either. Very Frustrating. Does anyone know how to program sync at all or is it not possible?

That's not what I said at all. There should be an upgrade path for 2015 models. Even if that means an expensive replacement with new components it would at least be a possibility to consider. So far as I've been able to determine there are zero options available. Can't blame me and many others for being upset about that.

Having better explained your thoughts I do agree that it would be great if Ford would provide an upgrade path for those of us with MFT, as I would pay good money for that as well.

Actually, unless something finally came out from one of the interface companies I called directly to check on a unit that would work on the 2014, we are stuck as well, nothing made to allow us to change the HU or I would of done in nearly two years ago after the first time I used and cussed out the factory NAV.

I do not even want NAV now, just a great DD unit I can make fit, my phone is a great navigator.

I wonder if its possible to take the sync3 guts and transfer it to at MFT car...I would assume ford just changed the main unit and the screen and that the connections to everything else is the same, but then again that might be too easy.

Hard to say but if Ford would have to do something simple like enable the BCM I think it is, then no, it probably would not be done. They could pretty easily enable it for adding a back up camera to the earlier cars but they do not even respond to the posts about it, just don't care.

I know, I am pretty negative towards them for what they have not done for us, I also am pretty damn positive it would be fairly simple and they sold us a POS system with no way around it.
