Ford Announces Sync Update for 2014-2015 Vehicles
Dearborn, MI, April 1, 2015.
The Ford Motor Company, FoMoCo, announced today that it will release an update to its heralded SYNC program for older vehicles. "Since we're now using a completely new, reliable, app based Sync 3 system starting with model year 2016, with enhanced features and functionality across the board, we didn't want those other owners to feel like we really just don't care about them anymore."
Plans include instructional videos on its "MYFORD TOUCH" website, notably featuring Will Ferrell demonstrating how to reprogram TPMS sensors, retrieve spare change from behind the emergency brake, and insert the newly designed "MYFORD TOUCH" shims in the rear windows and sunroof brackets. Customers will also be given new options to replace Samantha, the voice of Sync. Says spokesman Troy McClure, "owners spend a lot of time trying to talk with the car, so we wanted to make the experience fun for the whole family. We've already signed Lindsay Lohan, Bobcat Goldthwait, Dolly Parton and Dr. Phil. And we're still negotiating with the Joan Rivers estate."
Sadly, Ford's first choices, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Sylvester T.C., were already were committed to VW / Audi.
Although it won't help current owners, beginning next month Ford plans to have each Recaro driver's seat field tested by Kim Kardashian, thus ensuring a comfortable fit.
