I've wanted a Wavetrac diff since back when I still had a 4th gen LS1 Z28! [wink]

But in order to have had one in THAT car, I would have had to swapped in a whole new Ford 9" rear axle, since that was/is the only USDM solid axle center section they made one for! [:(]

This car is definitely getting one once I can save up the coin for it, even BEFORE any turbo upgrades. [thumb]

I appreciate it! Thank You! I contacted SKF and they confirmed that LM29749VP (Bearing) and LM29711VP (Race) can be interchanged with the above if you want a metal cage instead of the plastic. Both are available on RockAuto for super cheap.
I'm confused which part to get instead of the 200 dollar install kit. Could I get away from getting 2x CV6Z-1S177-A and 2x 96WZ-4220-A and 10 bolts (what is the part number?) Im planning to install MFactory LSD

Nut | FordUS They only come in packs of four so you'll have two extra.

Differential Bearing | FordUS Two of these

Axle Output Shaft Seal | FordUS Two of these

Amazon.com: Permatex 51813 Anaerobic Gasket Maker, 50 ml Tube: Automotive Waaaay cheaper than getting it in the kit and you get a lot more. I ended up having to put my case halves together twice because the oil funnel didn't line up right for me the first time. It was nice having the extra sealant.

Just to confirm the 10 nuts are the same as https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-nut-w700427s300
Seal is the same as OE https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-manual-transmission-output-shaft-seal-cv6z1s177a
Output shaft (Differential) Bearing is the same as the OE https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-manual-transmission-differential-bearing-96wz4220a
and that LM29749VP is just another part # from another manufacture for the bearing?

If so, this will save me 100 bucks!

Realistic installation cost is $1200-$1500 USD. And $1k for LSD plus $200 for the kit. All in all plan to spend $2500 USD.

That's the same brand I'm going with also. I've also been informed we need a kit that's 250. I now have to source out an installation shop and from 3 different sources I've been swayed to not go with mountune as they don't really do a clean install and take way too long than they promise you. Spoke with a technician there at mountune and he told me NOT to get an lsd because since I don't track my car I'd be wasting money. IDK what to make of that but okay.

Oh, duh! I see that now. Thanks.
The problem is still finding someone local who is competent to do the install. That's where Sourskittle may be on to something. Personally, I'd be wary of getting someone else's gearbox, though, since you just don't know the condition of the syncros, seals, etc.
I'm in southern california and going with wavetrac. And getting a competent shop is a crap shoot as we don't really know them.

Like RonMCDOn said in another FSwerks, there install price is $1100 and they have done a bunch of . Plus for you its a straight shot down the 57 as they are in Anaheim. I am most likely going to get my Wavetrac installed there.

I just ordered up the MFactory LSD and BG SSII gear oil from Whoosh and put together the install kit on Tasca. I think after various discounts I'll have all the parts needed for around $850 shipped. The local shop quoted me $1400 for the install. So, all in I should be around $2,250.

Is there any other "while your in there" type mod that people do when they do LSD? My plan for the off-season is clutch, flywheel, LSD, and gears. One and done (hopefully) in the transmission. I know it's big $$ and not realistic for everyone though.

I think that's pretty much it. Make sure you get a new slave cylinder also (DG9Z-7A564-B.) I suppose you could do the axles and front suspension arms or bushings, since I think they have to come out. I decided to keep it as budget friendly as possible, and since I don't plan on 300+ HP, I decided to just keep the stock clutch. Part of the install is refinishing the stock flywheel though. I'll probably regret not swapping the clutch at some point when the clutch starts slipping but by then I'll just chalk it up to normal maintenance.

Idk maybe upgraded transmission mount too? I went with Vibra Technic. With clutch I just wanted to get a good quality part with positive rep so went with xclutch instead of spec. It came with its own flywheel. Although not dual mass it's not noticeably lighter and drives like oem. If you do install this part, DO NOT use the supplied throw out bearing and stick with OEM. I learned the hard way and had a $900 tow from Chuckwalla back to FS Werks.

thought about getting final drive but since the car already struggles with traction as is didn't think it was a good idea.

not sure if this is a good time to do the alumininum steering rack bushing, lca bushings, endlinks (highly recommend Swave from Ron) and torsion beam bushing if thats your thing. Did all that and my steering feel is pretty tight.
