X Plan vs negotiating

Hi all, getting closer to pulling the trigger. Local dealer has a few STs on the lot. I have an x-plan pin number, but was wondering if people are getting better pricing by negotiating. I've never bought a "specialty" Ford, usually just basic models. Thoughts?

I checked the X-plan when I got mine, and the discount was not much on the FiST.

The difference between invoice and MSRP is only about $700 on the FiST. This gives very little negotiating room. My Z-plan was only slightly less than $1500 off MSRP, so X-plan will be less. I have a copy of the invoice with my paperwork, but when they copied it, it cut off the A,X, and Z plan prices off the bottom.

In comparison, my Z-plan was almost $5000 off on my Explorer, but the MSRP was almost double the FiST on the Explorer. They just don't make any money on the FiST (or the regular Fiesta for that matter).

Remember, you have dealer and factory incentives on top of that. You get those even with X-plan. Most negotiating isn't really negotiating, they are using incentives available to them as wiggle room on their part. It's a give and take thing. They "give" you a better deal by "taking" from the incentives, but they are't losing any money on the deal.

Current figures show invoice is $20641......Msrp $21770.......Holdback $653 That is $1782 "wiggle room". Current incentives are $1000 trade assist and $500 cash if you do not use Ford financing plus others. Good price here in E. TN is $500 over invoice. Can't seem to get below that number. But there are only 2 ST's within 100 miles!

The best deal you can get is 0% financing. That's more money than any plan will save you on the fist. I did X-plan and 0%.

I was supposed to get D-plan, but my ex-wife knew before I did that she was gonna be my ex, and "forgot" her pin" and "had no way what so ever to get ahold of it on a Tuesday", lol. So I settled for X-plan, and when she saw the fiesta, she enlightened me, lmao.

I'm happier with the fiesta, lol. But having 4 kids explains why I'm always so budget minded ;)

Well, My old car sold, so I need to move. I want a silver ST with regular seats. Three dealers in my area have one, I'll message each of them and see who can give the best otd price.

The dealers around here were beating the vendor plan I had. I went in negotiating, then once done figured out where the plan would come out at. Now if you really want to negotiate them down look at the Focus ST's. Those seem to be going well back of invoice around here anyway.

Well, got one tonight! White, sunroof, no other options. I was going back and forth between silver and white. Had bought other cars at Villa Ford in Orange, and they appreciated that I guess. Deal was well over a grand better than nearest dealer that was giving me a bunch of high pressure crap. Just drove it home. Happy so far, but looks like I have a bad driver window switch. One-touch up doesn't work. I'll drive it for a few days to see if any other glitches pop up.

Congrats on the car..

Check your manual on how to reprogram the Auto Up and Down for the window I think it is like page 73 IIRC it called Resetting Bounce back feature
Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING
The bounce-back feature remains
turned off until you reset the
memory.
If you have disconnected the battery, you
must reset the bounce-back memory
separately for each window.
1. Lift and hold the switch until the
window is fully closed.
2. Release the switch.
3. Lift the switch again for one more
second.
4. Press and hold the switch until the
window is fully open.
5. Release the switch.
6. Lift and hold the switch until the
window is fully closed.
7. Open the window and then try to close
it automatically.
8. Reset and repeat the procedure if the
window does not close automatically
