I drive a bigger variety of cars in a year than most people do in their lifetime (half of which are modded to within inches of usability). I still maintain that the Magnaflow catback in my car does not drone in any particularly offensive fashion. Hatchbacks are more prone to this issue due to their design but generally if you make sure the tips project out beyond a point on the body where it can reflect back into the cabin the issue can be mitigated.

I'm not saying your car didn't drone but I am saying that mine does not and I have the benefit of experience to know I'm not out of line here.
I know this name.... Haha love what you guys do and I religiously listen to both podcasts!
Other than that I have nothing to add other than slicing off the factory resonator and muffler did not in fact make mine sound like the wife's farty Abarth. It does cause headaches though!

With that said, how do you like the sound of magnaflow system then?

I rather like it, it doesn't have the "zingy" tone of the Cobb exhaust and isn't overly loud. Overall it's a fairly refined sound atypical of most inline 4 cylinders and you can make it pop a bit on lift every now and then.

I hacked off the stock exhaust canister and had a 3 inch magnaflow round can welded to it. Brought the tips out just passed the bumper. Love it. Did this within a month of buying the car and haven't looked back.

Wish I had read this thread. I picked up a new Magnaflow for my '14 ST for a great price. Initial thoughts from first 50 miles: Its fairly quiet from outside buy phew, its REALLY drone on the interior. Also not the biggest fan of the tips, and we couldn't get them straight. Seems to be a common issue. I'm gonna drive it for a few hundred miles and hope that it gets better. If not I may look to change the resonator out.
