What to monitor

I did a brief search, and couldn't find anything definitive. What gauges should be set up on the AP, and what should their values read, to ensure the car's running like it should/safely?

Here are a couple or articles in the COBB Knowledge Base that might help:

https://cobbtuning.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200026154-Focus-ST-Log-Review-Tips
https://cobbtuning.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204049644-Octane-Adjust-Ratio-OAR-

On a day to day basis, I monitor Map Slot, Boost, and Cylinder 1 Timing Correction.

Ian
So if I'm reading the second article right, if my OAR stays at -1, then the amount of knock that my car could be showing is well within normal parameters? also would that explain why I tend to get -1 or -2 timing if I don't give enough gas on start up and it shutters?

It's important to know when certain corrections happen. Timing corrections not under full throttle could be totally normal. Also, an infrequent small timing correction here or there under full throttle would be normal as well.

On a daily basis I monitor the following:

AFR
Boost
Cyl 1 Timing Correction
Charge Air Temp
ETC Angle (This is to see if my throttle is closing during a pull, which requires some tune adjusting)

When I'm doing any E-tuning I have about 20 parameters I require the customer to log, if you are looking to do any datalogging with your car I can share them with you.

You shouldn't actually be giving it gas during startup, just put your foot on the clutch and press the start button and the starting sequence will handle the rest.

He probably meant on launch, not startup (I hope).

Not an expert, but I like to know my oil, air, and coolant temps, the afr & Boost. Might add timing based on the above posts...

I have 6 parameters set on AP which after many logs I've settled on to just monitor some basics daily on AP...love Cobb's auto on/off feature they recently added :)

Boost
Cyl 1 Timing Correction
Cyl 3 Timing Correction
Charge Air Temp
Coolant Temp
Map Slot # (for switchable maps based on ethanol %)
