So I'm pretty sure my EWG is mechanically stuck closed. Have been working on tuning the car and WGDC adjustments aren't making any difference in my boost levels (well above 18psi spring pressure).

Assuming this is the issue, and no physical damage to the WG, can something like this be corrected by removing the part and giving it a good solvent soak/cleaning? This is my first turbo adventure, so I don't know much about wastegate troubleshooting. I've only had the kit since May and it took a month and a half break while it was between cars.

have you checked the tension on the wastegate spring? Mine wouldn't boost past 20psi. Adjusted the spring and it held to 24psi. I replaced the WG and now i have gotten it up to 28.25psi. I would start with the spring first. Tighten it a few turns and see.

Haha, dumbass of the day award goes to me.

When I installed the BT I only saw 2 ports on the boost controller. Thinking ford updated the part for the '16 I connected the WG the bypass valve (?) port.

Must have damaged the controller when removing the stock turbo and never noticed the hole where the port should be.

Well, shit...ordered a new boost controller. Hope it gets here soon.

hey, DHM has their own boost control valve, you may want? I looks solid. Hijinks has it on his car. there's photos in his build thread.

Is that the same one they sell for the FoST? I can't seem to find a pic in the build thread. Looks like a quality piece...I might actually pick that up at a later date. But the OE controller was a little over $40 shipped and should be here by Friday according to UPS.

I pretty much have my tune squared away and I'll have to say the DHM intercooler makes a HUGE difference over the 2J part.

I was hitting a little over 310whp on e30 before dialing the tune back a little. Now making right at 300 and hitting 200wtq around 3250rpm on 3rd gear pulls. This is all in unseasonably hot weather, 90*F plus.

I'll be hitting the tail of the dragon sometime in the next 3 days...Can't wait!

Hit the dragon Friday in the rain. Traffic was very light but there were some pretty wet patches and plenty of slick spots due to fallen leaves. The fiesta was more than willing to press harder than my wife was willing to go. But I'll give her props for letting me get on it a few times.

I took some gopro video but nothing very exciting. Nice foliage and turbo noises, though.

Only 200TQ? Does it peak later in range?

BT is gonna shift the powerband higher in the rev range. It just crosses the 200wtq line around 3250.

I had a lifetime tune with tune+, so stayed with Adam. Not really sure why the lean spike in that pull...I haven't seen one since, to be honest. I'm thinking I might have hit some terrain change at the end of the run?

A couple more pics from killboy and the (long) gopro video. My wife already wants to go back even though she was telling me to slow down the whole time. I will definitely be exploring some of the other roads when I do.

I noticed my left rear corner suspension started clunking last week. I thought I had blown the shock or something, but no sir. The PO of my coils omitted the lock rings from the spring height adjusters. The springs were so loose, I could have probably removed them with the shocks still bolted to the rear beam. I didn't even think to check them when I swapped everything off the green car, but that's what happens when you trust someone else's work. BC has awesome support, though, and my new lock rings will arrive today.

I also opened up the grille to show off that sexy DHM crash bar. It's a pretty simple mod and I think makes a subtle but huge difference in how the car looks.

The car looks great.

What method did you use to cut out the back of the grill? I've been considering a small router.

Thanks!

I just used an electric angle grinder for most of it. Then a dremel with sanding attachment around where the badge goes. There was quite a bit of slag from the angle grinder, it doesn't really remove the plastic so much as it just melts it and pushes it away. So I spent some time with a really sharp razor blade to cut out anything that the grinder missed. The whole process took maybe 3 hours not including removing and replacing the bumper.

Will post a pic up once the weather improves here.
