LOL at snobs driving Focuses.

Im down for a drive in my FiST. And it always cooler to roll deep with lots of other cars in the mix.

Nothing like rolling in a group of car enthusiasts. Hearing all the different sounds comparing mods and opinions about them. My boys love cars. Even my 2 year old stops what he's doing when he hears an exhaust lol. Then sometimes he says "nice!" Then trys to imitate it.

I'm part of some of the NorCal ST groups, and every time I see one of the meets, I avoid them. May be a unpopular opinion but it seems like the focus st in particular attracts some "enthusiasts" that I don't want to be around. I think a Fiesta group would be neat as it seems like most of us don't rice the shit out of our cars; or just meet at other big car meets. There are big car events in the bay area once or twice a week.

That’s the exact sentiment I feel. Thanks for typing what I think.

+1 to this. Fiesta owners are a different type then the focus crowd.

I am interested in a Fiesta ST meet when my car get back from the engine builder. It would be fun to meet some new people I haven't been to a meet in like a year lol.

Why is your car at the engine builder? Did it break down? Did you break it? I’m barely on 850 miles on my sixteen.

Look at my mod list lol. It explains it all. I oil starved my car on a canyon run and destroyed every bearing on cylinder 4. At exactly 35000 miles. I then went to a local builder, who screwed me over. The car then bounced to 3 different shops to end up where it is now. It's been a 10 month nightmare that I hope ends very soon. I miss my toy and the community lol.
(I am gonna come up with a nice long post in my build thread soon to explain everything that happened and where the car is going now)

Didn’t look at your mod list but thanks for explaining it. Happy new year. Make 2018 a Fiesta year.

Should we be investing in the oil baffle kit? I'm heavily tracking my car and am unsure if we need them or not.

If I were doing things all over again it would be one of my first mods. I went ahead and installed the mountune oil control on my new engine. After inspecting my old motor(the oil level was even full when it started knocking) I figured I had hurt something due to the amount of power the car makes, but it wasn't the case. It was very clear the engine had been oil starved when I got it apart. Basically, the furthest bearings from the oil pump were damaged. I wish I took pictures of the damage, but I didn't. If you open track the oil control is cheap insurance. Especially with turn 9 at big willow. I hope this helps I kinda rambled a bit.

Good info. Will pick up the kit. Thanks!

Do you have any details on the install while its in the car? Is it as easy as dropping the pan, scraping old silicone gasket, removing old baffling then reinstalling everything with new gasket?
Did the kit come with install instructions?

I did mine with the engine out, but I'm pretty sure that's the process, the oil pan appears like it can easily be dropped by just removing the bolts and old gasket material (silicone). I don't recall it having instructions though. It's a really straight forward install.

Cool. Just ordered it for my track day in Feb. Do you happen to have torque specs on the oil pan, or the bolts for the baffle kit? Did you use loctite on the baffle screws?

Lastly, any idea what kind of silicone to use? Thanks so much for the info.

I do not remember what the spec was, I put together the motor with a friend that had access to all data. I used the Ford grey gasket silicone, you can get it at the parts department of your ford dealer, or use RTV ultra grey and call it a day. What track are you headed to in february ? if my cars done I would love to track with another fiesta ST. I'm usually the only fiesta when i go to open track days.

back on topic we need to get a big cali meet going, its been to long since we have had a meet or cruise.
