I know the production version it will look very toned down, but this concept version has a land rover level of bulkiness to it in my opinion. I love the look of the old 510 but this is just to chunky for me. Those 4 spoke wheels are pretty fantastic though.

I like it, but if they stick to their guns and only offer it in a CVT I'm out.

Autoline Detroit news said it will be made in Tennessee. Nissan has really increased production in Middle TN recently...good news for employing more USA labor!

So this will be cheaper than the Z to take on the FR-S/BRZ?

That what I've read. I showed my dad the photo and he immediately asked me if its the new Datsun 510.[biggrin]

It reminds me alot more of the old Z cars than the 510, but very nice nonetheless!

Nice!...my parents used to have a yellow 510....I was trying to find one years ago along with a early first generation civic...unless I visited South America it was useless....but that is a Datsun 510 rebirth for sure....like they say, everything old is new again!

I personally wish Nissan would release a less than 30K turbo charged rear wheel drive with a 5 or 6 speed transmission. In a 4 or 6 cylinder. If they had something s15-esc I would say bye to my FIST and my Mustang in a heart beat. This 510 thingy i will have to see in person before I say too much

If this car were released today, I'd own it over the ST. Its a perfect blend of nostalgia and playfulness.

Of course thats all based on its appearance and my personal reaction to it. I'd have to drive it, it'd have to be a proper manual, light weight, and rwd. And cheap. Yes, I want the moon and the stars!
