in all fairness, isn't that where fifteen52 came from too?
I have a little VW in me
Don't make me break out pictures of my 2000 GTI VR6 in Futura Yellow lol
Ronals are OG. I grew up a VW guy. First car was a '64 bug, then an '83 Rabbit GTI, '87 16V Scirocco, '88 Jetta GLI 16V built with a 2.3L Oettinger short block, head ported/polished by RC Engineering before they got into the fuel injector business. In my pursuit of perfection I strapped a turbocharger on it and walked unsuspecting 5.0's at the time LOL [grinking]. This was in the early '90's when the SoCal import scene/street racing was becoming. I rolled with REDLINE Racing.

Bring on the pics! LOL

ATS Wheels are OG, deep lips [thumb]

Spearco intercooler before anyone knew who they were.

4 Aux Port Injectors controlled by HKS AIC. Welding and fab by BDS (Blower Drive Services)

^^^ALL black (even though Ron HATES all black wheels), without the Aero 16" on them, and they would not be too bad. ;)
I don't hate black wheels at all
Just don't want it to look close to the same after I change them up is all....
If I would snag the Aero's chances are they would not look like anything I've ever had!

Oh wow, that's awesome
I'm going to break them out later for sure
I was a late bloomer MK4 guy (hate to admit)
stubby mirrors with blue tinted glass, sport clothes, FUNK buttons, you name it.....lol
Was also rolling on Klutch wheels when they first came out.....like MANY years ago

Also had a first in this land A1 '83 GTI in white, bought new.

The intake manifold in that first pic brings me back to the days of my (also red) '89 A2 GTI 16V.

Ah yes, the time of ATS/Ronal wheels (mine had Revolution 5 spokes on them though), Neuspeed, Autotech, Tectonics Tuning, Oettinger head$/cam$, VW Motorsport, Beru and Bosch Silber plugs, and Rapid Parts in NY <-(I WISH that there was an as well stocked Wurth retailer AROUND HERE! [:(]), I remember it well.

You reminded me, I also had 276 deg Intake/Exhaust Schrick Cams before I turbocharged it. It had a really nice mean lopping sound coming out of the header back Supersprint exhaust. I had it on the dyno at Neuspeed, but I don't recall the numbers of ~25yrs. ago LOL.

I would go with/trust the indestructible Braids over the fleabay fake 'Turbo-Minilites' every day of the year, despite their weight and co$t. [wink] [thumb]
I also have yet to see a single pic of a North American 5 door FiST with Braids on it, let alone one in the flesh, so THERE'S the exclusivity!

Plus, I believe that Ron does NOT want to do the hub conversion BS right at this moment (but I could be wrong [dunno]).

is it terrible that I'm now still undecided?

I really would like a set of the Ronal R50's
but maybe too extremely "different"

ugh!
haha

Just throw some Tarmacs on right now and sell it on your used section when you grow tired of them.

I call dibs.
lol but true!
I may just buy a set of whatevers just to have something and be selective on something more unique for later on
makes sense actually

^^^Now I've finally seen Rays/Volk wheels (I LOVE most of them!) which I cannot stand aesthetically. [vommit]

NO EFFING WAY I would go through the bother to convert to a 4x100 PCD (IF the 2nd bolt pattern is NOT a 4x108) in order to run THOSE wheels! [nono]

Haha. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But for the sake of being different and unique, I'd rock em! Beats rocking Tarmacs, Rotas, or Discounttire wheels. Plus it's JDM TYTE YO! [twothumb]

I like this similar color combo more than orange and black. I vote something with a bronze or gold color. Maybe some black face work wheels with their bronze lips.
