You should change your location lol it still says Irvine. Though of course I cannot blame you for hating Cali if you lived in Irvine, Irvine kinda sucks big time. Lol
Irvine was bad. But when you’re putting $2.09 93 in the daily 2.7 ecoboost truck, all of Cali looks awful to go back to.

Catalytic converters stay hot downstream which helps flow the exhaust gases out. Catless no heat retention. This is why I also Cerakoted the ported exhaust manifold, hot side of turbo, down pipe, and the exhaust. Keeping the heat in and flowing properly is important in turbo systems. Also mating a turbo to the proper diameter dp and exhaust can make hp or kill it.
If you didn't add a turbo blanket then your efforts are largely wasted.

LOL, I am so glad you are here. You give me great laughs every time you post.
I’ll assume that that’s a call for a source regarding the claim, so here ya go.

Also, great contribution, glad you’re here as a reminder to toss you on the ignore list. Cheers!

I don't think anyone said turbo blankets don't have positive effects but saying that it's needed is dumb. This isn't a precision 7675 it's not making insane amounts of heat.

IF you're doing a built engine and ceramic coating things then yes, it would be needed.

If you're running a stock turbo and just tune it to have more fun, then no, it's not needed. Results are proven, the benefit is real.

First off there are few and far in between with built engines in the fiesta community as the engine is pretty stout south of 400whp. Just because it has benifits doesn't mean it's needed hell I have a hybrid and I don't even use either of my heat shields.

You can do whatever you want, doesn't mean it's smart.

You do you man, just trying to educate.

I Cerakoted the exhaust manifold, hot side of turbo, down pipe and exhaust to the tips. This is race proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. I use a blanket when I take a nap 😴

Your choice of words is what makes your attempt to educate others a poor attempt, in my opinion. While I (and many others who have chimed in) agree that turbo blankets are marginally beneficial, it is obtuse to state that upgrading the turbo to a larger unit without the addition of a turbo blanket makes the effort of installing said turbo "largely wasted."

Regardless, I enjoy your posts - they keep me entertained.
