I tend to keep an eye on what my cars are worth year to year, and this is probably true of all used cars in this economy, but I was surprised today to find my Fiesta books for a good bit more than it did about a year ago. A year or so ago it was worth, according to KBB and NADA, around $13,000. Today they list it at $16,900 and $15,600 respectively. Which is crazy because I paid $19,500 for it nearly 6 years ago.

So, in essence, ~$3000 of depreciation in 6 years for a Ford economy car. That's super low.

The Rarity of the FiST and unavailability of the infamous "computer chips" has made used car prices go into the stratosphere. I'm ok with this though!

I’m curious if that has to do with Ford pulling out of the car market more than anything else. The Focus ST/RS is probably having a similar upward price trend. Some people forget how practical and affordable hatchbacks are.

It's not just the car. Used car prices are insane right now absolutely nuts.

The car is is definitely part of the equation but it also has to do with how crazy used car prices are.

I don't know about y'all but my grocery bill is up about 20% as well.

I pass a used car lot every day that has newer/nicer cars. It's half empty.

Also the 6 trillion in USD created and dumped into existence over the last 100 days or so is doing a number on assets. Except for gold and silver. Oddly and expectedly....they are smashed down off of every run up they attempt to make.

Assets are getting hammered because of false inflation fears .

If you want to sell your FiST, now is the time.
If you like it, don't sell it. Turns out these are pretty rare in the USA.
This is, and will always be a cult car. It's worthy of that status. It has no competitor here. Abarth? Please...
Ford Performance did an outstanding job of making a truly fun hot hatch for the lucky few who even know what that is.

Agreed. I shopped VW for the Golf R, looked at the Focus ST/RS, and even considered going back to an STi hatch. I love the presence of the FoRS. Love the interior of the Golf R. I just kept coming back to cost and fun. The FiST checks so many boxes, but the top one is fun to drive.

OK nobody sell your car, keep your Fiesta folks. We'll all be dead soon and within reason I'm driving what I want to drive. And like someone said above, these cars are RARE.

Years ago they were rare but now in 2021 they are becoming moreso for obvious reasons. More are in the scrapyard, none are being made. Most people don't know what my car is. At best they think it's a Focus ST. I see less and less of them on the road.

KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone on the fence.....KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This car is the rebirth of the 1991 SE-R. It is a fantastic and epic machine.

This is EXACTLY how I feel and how I ended up with one, except I had a FoRS prior to upgrading to my FiST. ;)
