Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forum but have previously visited it frequently to check out all the cool info and decided it was time to get an account. I've had my fiesta st since about June of last year as my first car and only logged about 4k miles on it. That's mostly due to someone hitting me in late December and it's been in the shop for almost 3 months (Back order issues and corona but they finally started working on it!).

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knows any racing clubs or open race tracks in the southeast Michigan area. I've done my fair share of research but either people have outdated websites with impossible to find info or I just can't find any.

Anyone with info would help a lot since I love driving my little car; it's a blast! Id love to hit a track or do some fun things in a legal area when I get it back. And if anyone wants to take a drive with me let me know!

There's the Detroit region of the SCCA. Autocross play would require the least amount of preparation. They do have a track night event as well. North West Ohio region of SCCA is also near and active. It's a bit of a drive, but Detroit and Saginaw region hold a two day event later in summer at Oscoda. It's worth the effort.
The best open track event or test and tune is in Southwest Michigan in South Haven at Gingerman. It's a modern facility with a safe track design that allows you to really stretch your cars legs.

Local SCCA chapter will have an abundance of info.

Waterford Hills puts on many open track days in a usual season. It's a great track and well organized. Gingerman also hosts several open track days throughout the year.

But yes, Detroit Region SCCA would be the best if you are looking for something easier to jump into.

I vote you do rallycross, but I'm a bit biased....

I'm not against Rallycross. But, anyone who wants to do an event needs to fully understand that one event will put about a year of wear and tear on your car. If your cars tie rod ends ,ball joints and shocks are marginal before you participate, they will be junk by the end of the day. You will also be hosing mud and dirt out of places you didn't know could hold that stuff. Beyond the harsh conditions and added wear, it's basically a muddy and rough version of Autocross.
