I reverted to the Stage 2 OTS tune after installing my FMIC and charge pipes and it didn't feel nearly as good as my FreekTune was before the FMIC when I only had a drop-in filter.
No doubt, same here. I also went full throttle 1st through 3rd today on my second revision and I blew the tires off in all three gears. I am still tuning with Justin too to get it 100%. I need better tires, lol

Yeah, the OEM tires are pretty worthless on these cars-even at stock levels. Any power above stock makes them even worse. On the bright side the treadwear rating is quite low...

For $150 this looks like one hell of a deal. I might be jumping on this as well.

I can't even lie-the FreekTune custom tune has been the best-spent money on my car so far.

Any concerns with the tune being too aggressive and being possibly dangerous?

I know the Cobb OTB tunes have a bit of safety built in but wonder how much you give up to have the extra gains.

Hey thanks for posting this....and that was my very next question...

It would be interesting and very helpful for others considering going this route to see comparative "back to back" dyno's and/or logged runs between say Cobb's OTS stage 3 tune (with appropriate supporting mods) and a Freektune optimized street tune to get a sense as to how far beyond Cobb's OTS the tune is actually being pushed to...perhaps someone has done this already? I'm kinda new here on the forum and my searches so far haven't come across this yet...

There have been a couple of instances of seeing a negative ign correction or two, but he has it addressed by the next tune. I'm still actually seeing a couple of positive corrections still, though they are .75 or lower and only for a couple hundred rpm. So far, simply based on datalogs I've taken and looked at, I don't see anything that would give me concern regardless of temp, time of day, load, etc.

Once I get my tune completed I can grab some comparable datalogs of the FreekTune map compared to the OTS Stage 3 tune. They won't be exactly 'back to back' due to needing to put some miles on to reestablish fuel trims, but I can get them in same day and in relatively equal conditions-close enough for government work anyways.

I will say that the difference between OTS and the FreekTune isn't 'small'-it's readily and immediately apparent. My Stage 3 OTS map feels *roughly* on par with where I was with the custom tune and just a drop-in filter.

I will be getting some dyno runs once my tuning is complete and I find a respectable shop. I probably won't get a comparison the OTS tunes and I definitely don't have any stock runs, but I'll post what I get.

Just like dyn085 said, on the base map to get started, there were some negative corrections, but Justin was pretty quick to add fuel and adjust timing to get a good starting point. The negative went away....Then the fun started....when he added extra WGDC on my next revision. The thing started pulling like a freight train, but the some negative ign correction came back, then more adjustments. With every data log and then revision, it gets better. He does seem concerned with making it safe and seems to plan on many back and forth revisions with his customers.

Got my 3rd revision today and flashed it in. We are getting closer. This one felt better than the last and the monitors looked good in driving today. Will be getting the datalogs done tomorrow evening!

Anyone running a Freaktune?

Completed my rev 3 datalogs today!!! Zero negative ignition corrections through the pull. It stayed between 0-1.6 ignition correction throughout all cylinders. It just feels great throughout the rpm's.

Question are you getting and change in the ETC angle vs actual Throttle position ?

Not a big deal I was just curious as we chased that ETC closure when I was hitting my boost target with the tuner I am using.. He pointed it out and then I started watching for it in my logs as we worked it out can't say I noticed it till it wasn;t there and it pulled a bit better all the way up not dip if you will in the power or pull you feel at low RPM's during a datalog .. NO where near the dip my old FRS had LOL

At WOT (100% accel pedal pos) the ETC angle actual settles in at 82.xx from 3500 to 6500 rpm. It does change with the throttle position accordingly...as it goes up and down for the most part as the accel pedal pos % changes. Another example is when the accel pedal pos % is at 17%, the ETC angle actual is at 4.xx. It's funny though cause when I first punch it at 2500 rpm, it takes the ETC angle right at .5 secs to settle at the 82.xx.

82 is good that is WFO and I was getting a dip around 2850 rpm it dipped to like 50 then back up.. funny stuff ..

Brown line is ETC angle
Aqua Line is Throttle Postion
