CarPlay Help

I just moved up to Sync 2.2 and I have been trying out Apple CarPlay. I can't find any way to manually enter a destination. Everything I've found searching online shows that there is a magnifying glass search icon that will bring up a text screen but mine doesn't have that option. Siri is worthless and never finds the correct location that I'm searching for. I know that I can enter it on my phone but that seems like an unnecessary step. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have this problem or is it unique to me?

The idea behind Carplay is handsfree, but you can enter the destination manually in maps on your phone and it shows on the Carplay screen.

Yes, if you are having trouble I would enter the address on your phone and then get going.
