I had a clunking noise and thought my crankshaft pulley was bad. Pulled apart and removed pulley and looked inside at timing belt, my timing crank outside rim broke. Going to replace as well with my crankshaft pulley. How do I time it back correctly or are there any positioning tools to ensure proper installation of crankshaft pulley?
I saw a video where the crankshaft sensor was right by the pulley, and there was a tool that goes on there that locks into the pulley, but my car does not have that.
I marked my old pulley on the car where it was aligned. Can I install the new one back where it was and tighten? Planning on using the serpentine belt trick to tighten.
What are your guys thoughts?
