Makes me wonder just how 'squishy' the 225/45-16 A052s I want to use on some set of 16x8s will be. [dunno] [:(]

If you're running a front chassis brace and uprated mounts/inserts it increases turn in and feel.

Actual traction is up, softer sidewall effects steering feel more than traction with these tires. I feel the same way with RSRs, RSRRs and the bfg Rivals. Excellent traction, but they can feel squishy and feedback/turn in isn't the best. Going down to a smaller wheel will also affect turn in. I really noticed it going from 17" crappy AS tires to 16" on slightly stretched Indy's, still lost a little turn in and feel.

Same here, went from my 17 OEM on crap General A/S to 16s on Federal ST-1 and lost a good bit of turn-in.

Everyone who's put some miles on these, how do the sidewalls feel. Really miss the stuff sidewall and amazing turn in of the re50s. Running R888r now and they just don't have nearly the same sensation.

i didn’t put many miles on due to temps but I thought turn in was slightly better than re71r. The guy I use for mounting said they were super stiff and one of hardest tires he had to mount. Thought was interesting as he mounts all my performance tires.

I've heard many people state that this was a 'complaint' that most installers had about the 615s and 615+es as well.
I guess Falken just really believes in super stiff side walls/side wall construction. [dunno]

The RT615K+ sidewall is definitely stiffer than my RSR, RS Pro and 500. I just ordered a set of RT660 in 215/40/17 to replace my RS Pros. Should be here by the end of the week.

I agree the 615+ have a good sidewall. I experienced them in 215/45r16. A bit quieter than the rsr too

If I were going to either keep my 17x8 1.2s and paint them gold, or get a set of Superturismo LMs in 17x7.5 to replace them, the tires going on them would be either the 215/40-17 660s, or the Yok A052s. [wink] [driving]

I thought about the A052s but I've had great experiences with Falken. The price is much lower as well. Maybe the A052 is a bit faster?? I'll probably never know. I can do a lot to the car with the leftover cash that'd likely be more beneficial though, like adding aero for my high speed problems.

225/45-15 rt660 on 15x8 vs 205/50-16 re71r on 16x7

Did you have to provide SCCA membership number to purchase? I looked at these in 225/45/17 for my FRS and they are requiring SCCA membership number (presumably because 225/45/17 is the Spec Coupe tire for the '13-'16 86/brz autocross class

I didn’t and I saw that also.Do you have to provide to get a discount for solo spec or something? I’d try to call them and see what says. Hard to believe won’t sell a certain size tire due to that.

I'll try to call later today. I think what may be happening is they want to restrict that size (due to limited quantities) so that it doesnt sell out for the people racing solo spec

Welp, I said screw it and just made an order for 225/45R15s- I'm hoping these will be better than the Rivals in our conditions up here.
We'll see how they shake out.
I was never a fan of the rivals in the cold. On a nice hot day they do well though. I will say the 660 in 45-50 degree weather felt great with the 660 the little I used them so far.

Ordered some for my other car. We’ll see how they preform. If I fall in love with them they’ll end up on the fist too.

215/40/17 RT660 compared to 215/40/17 RT615K+, 205/40/17 Indy 500 and 215/40/17 Federal RS Pro. The RT660 and RS Pro are almost exactly the same width (about 8” contact patch). The Indy 500 and RT615K+ are much narrower at around a 7.5” contact patch. They have too much poke on a 7” wheel in my opinion. 7.5” or 8” wide would be best. I won’t have them on track until June sadly so no driving updates until then.

Ayyy Pro Race 3s. Top choice.

These new Falkens are .5" wider than the old 615K+?
