Well I have to say I might have to reverse my statement of liking the sound symposer. It sounded great with the stock exhaust but I feel it it "dueling" with the aftermarket exhaust (Mountune Catback). Based on that I may delete it. Something to consider in the future.
Running same cat-back. Used cone-shaped orange ear-plug in cabin pipe-to-resonator junction to silence resonator. Reconnect resonator and (noise) pipe back in factory place. Quick, easy, less than $1.
It sounds bad ass like the car has super aggressive cams but i deleted it to me its fake since it goes through the firewall kazoo and makes me feel im pushing the car harder than i am with and makes it alittle harder to rev match
I actually like it, even with an Injen intake & MBRP exhaust. Mine popped off at some point and I didn't notice it was popped off till I went to go install my BOV and we put it back on for giggles... it sounds good. I missed the added sound but it's subtle enough for me to not notice it was missing for months.
I definitely like it too. Until I get an exhaust I like to have some noise even if it's somewhat artificial. I like my cars with all sorts of noises when driving them. Engine sounds, turbo, intake, gear change, I just like all the mechanical sounds.
It's a good touch if you plan to leave your car stock, a good aggressive sound. But after installing my 2j intake the sounds that enhances blow off or dubbing sounds fake and cheesy and that is why I order a mountune delete kit
I like everything about how the car sounds on the inside when you are taking it for a spirited drive, never really felt it was too noisy or overbearing at all
My only noise complaint really is my stereo sounds like is coming out of a tin can
Here's a thing - I like the sound from the symposer too - but could it be a bit different in the 3 dr ST (which I have) compared to the 5 door? But I'm old and deaf from a misspent youth
I like it. This car is a lot quieter than my ZX2 was so without the sound symposer I couldn't hear the engine as well during acceleration. That may very well get me better gas mileage because I probably wouldn't be pushing it as hard, but that's no fun. Engine sound is part of the experience. I will be keeping the car stock as far as intake and exhaust go. I don't like loud cars, I just like hearing the engine.
