Interesting Test of FiST Alternatives

There have been interesting threads on here about what car people would replace their FiST with if they had to, looking mostly at other reasonably priced fun to drive cars. This test compares some of them.

They hated the GTI, and loved the Elantra N. Other cars in the test are the Civic Si, the Subaru WRX, and the Toyota GR86.

to be fair, a lot of things motortrend writers hate (tiny backseats, cheap looking interior, harsh ride) would ding it if the fiesta st were brought up today. it would win huge marks on value though even when factoring inflation (i would guess a base fiesta st would probably go for about $25K and a recaro/sunroof for $30K in today's world)
