Missed a gear, wrench light on, bad whine

Driving to work this morning missed a gear passing a semi, revved to probably 7k maybe a little more for no more then 2-3 seconds, car went into limp mode and the wrench came on the dash, trans seems to be making a bad whine and seems to engage very rough, anyone ever have this happen? Turned car off restarted limp mood gone but trans still feels rough

Misshifted from 2nd to 1st once on track. Didn't actually go into gear but made a loud banging sound and wrench light came on.
Restarted the car and wrench light was gone, car drove fine but would make the whine under load, especially on the highway.
Ended up getting a new tranny under warranty
