I'll start with mine. First off was my 1972 white Ford Escort Mexico which I bought when I served in Germany. I think I paid about 1,000 pounds sterling for it. Topped out on the autobahn at 108mph! Next came my 1980 Vauxhall Chevette HS2300 which I got tax free when I bought it to go to Germany. I traded in the Mexico for the Chevette. Great car with 135bhp which I had tuned for 160bhp with a new cylinder head and different carbs. Rallied it one year in the Liege International Police Rally in Belgium. Lastly, my current ST which is my forever car. Has never let me down with any engine problem in my 11yrs of ownership. So what three have you owned which you considered the best?

1. Current '18 FIST
2. '90 civic EF with an SI swap
3. '95 escort

The fist is the only car I've made payments, everything else was purchased for under a grand... I'd probably still have the EF Civic but a lady in a Corvette T Boned mešŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

I've only had 2. My first was a 1994 Mustang I got back in high school. Nothing special but was mostly reliable for the 8 years I had it. Was able to get it from SoCal to upstate New York when I was stationed at Fort Drum. After two years there it finally became too costly and unreliable and I decided to get a new car. Wanted a WRX Hatch but those stopped being in production and I wanted a new car. Also wanted the RS but it was too costly and I had to be realistic. Got the FiST in 2016 because It was a small hatch but could still hang and have a blast. Plus I could transition it to rally someday if I get something bigger. So far it's done amazing by me and have had no major issues in the 169K miles on it. Did a minor rebuild of the trans and replaced a lot of wear and tear parts. Dare I say its thriving now that I get to mash down on the Autobahn and these Bavarian roads. Super excited to take it back stateside though for all the scenic roads I've yet to drive. But not before I hit up the Nürburgring in spring. Here's one of the only pics I have of the two together. Sadly the mustang is no longer with us and it got scrapped some years ago instead of being donated like I coordinated for.

1999 BMW 328is
2004 Mazdaspeed MX5
1991 MR2 5vzfe swapped

All faster in a straight line than my e85 FiST & better DDs. The first 2 were much funner to drive and much faster on track for half the investment of the FiST. The aftermarket support for the MR2 was nonexistent ~10 years ago when I was driving that, but nothing holds a candle to the sound 6+ cylinders right behind you. Can’t wait to get a P car….

My 2003 4runner v8 has been so reliable. Dont know where I would be without it, with how hard it obtain basic parts for the FiST. The dealership doesn’t stock anything for it, but getting Toyota or BMW parts (much higher quality parts) is always a piece of cake.

I miss that e36 every single day. It could do everything and had endless performance potential.

The FiST definitely makes the list
Had a 2015 Mercedes C300 Sport, fun little sedan that got great highway mileage
Have a 1975 MG Midget that's a fun roadster, when it works. Currently down with a suspected blown clutch slave. Lost all clutch pedal about 1/2 mile from home. Luckily, it only weighs about 1,300lbs.

Fun wise, those 3 probably take the list.

My first car was a 1982 Mercedes 240D. Absolutely, the slowest car I've ever driven. 0-60 more accurately measured with a calendar than a stopwatch :D
It had over 300k when we bought it, and it was in amazing shape [especially compared to the others we looked at]. Had it for about 9 months & got rear ended by a F150 pulling a trailer. $7k in damage to a $2k car.
One of these days, want to put a W123 300TD wagon in the garage.

Focus RS, E36 M3, 72 Mach1, LR4, Fiesta ST - all still at the house.

S14 240sx gets an honorable mention - great chassis, horrible engine/transmission.

It all started with an A2 GTi....would like to have a VR6 swapped one, that would be a hoot.

First, a 1970 VW Beetle. BTW 1970 featured the highest compression ratio ever put in an air cooled Beetle. Largely due to the same engine going into the Porsche 914. Car would do 0-60 in 14.3 seconds and top out at 105.

+ 1 VWSCAN.JPG
1985 Monte Carlo SS Now carrying a GMPP HT383 and a Grand National Spec 200R4 transmission by Jasper.
+ 2 MONTEss350.jpg
2019 Fiesta ST It's a bit faster to 40 than the Monte and much better when the road gets really twisty. Mods are all cooling related. Features a Mountune Intercooler, Mountune Intake Kit, and a Mountune Radiator.
+ 3 IMG_1131.jpg

Yeah, being a Car Nut sort of runs in the family. It goes back to my Great Grandfather who drove a Marmon in the 19 Teen's.

1978 Fiesta S. I dailied this car, it was the first car I bought myself new, and over time I turned it into a C/SP autocross car that I drove to 10th place at the Solo II Nationals

1985 MR2. Just loved the nimbleness. And for the time the power was good.

2019 Fiesta ST. Need I say more?

But the Fiesta ST is really my wife's car. So I'll give honorable mention to another one I had when the impracticality of the MR2 became a problem. And that was a 1991 Mercury Tracer LTS.

Pretty sure we're both members of another forum, run by a certain eagle. ;)

In no particular order:
- 2016 Fiesta ST: Has been perfectly reliable, great gas mileage, most fun you can have in a fwd car even in stock form. 300+whp only makes it better and still no reliability issues.

- 1997 Volvo 850R: Classic brick style with the 2:3L straight five that sounded incredible. Best seats of any car I’ve had by a mile. Auto only is the only negative. It was so well built I think it would have ran forever had it not been put in a ditch to avoid rear ending some asshole who pulled out without looking at 60 mph.

- 2003 Escalade ESV: Does everything well and looks like the quintessential 00s drug dealer which is always a plus. Hauls the whole fam plus dogs and cargo, tows anything I could need, full time 4WD great in adverse conditions, 6.0 LQ9 is indestructible. It’s slow and averages 13 mpg but I love it anyways. 62k miles on it and have every expectation it’ll make it well past 250k.

1- This one, my 2016 Fiesta ST. It's fun to drive, to me its best asset is its quick agile handling and quick turn in. It's faster than I thought it would be, spunky, tough and punches way above its weight.

2- My 1995 Acura NSX. That was a lifetime dream car for me, and it's always nice when you can realize one of your dreams. It was a beautiful car and made as a halo car for Honda when they were heavily into Formula 1 racing. Ayrton Senna helped develop the handling on it, and it handled great, although it was not too practical for the street because its sweet spot seemed to be taking high-speed sweepers at about 100 mph .

3- A 2008 BMW E90 M3. It was a beast, kind of a nutty German muscle car with a 414 horsepower 4 Liter V8 with an 8400 RPM redline. The engine was made in the same factory where they made the Formula 1 engines and the car was very expensive to keep going so I let it go.

If you like BMW's, check out AutoAlex on YT. Alex, Taylor and Rory are into older Beemers and have a lot of fun!
There was a black NSX filling up at the COSTCO in Burbank last week. Driven by a young Japanese guy.

I'm young, so I have had a few cars in my lifetime.

1. My 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. best car I have had. Modern amenities (standard apple carplay, navigation, bluetooth). 6 speed manual. turbo 4 cylinder. lightweight. awesome car for the twisties.

2. My 2007 Cobalt SS. It was a pile of garbage. But a fun and nimble little car. I swapped the SS Recaros in (from a buddy's 2005 he was parting out), and did a lot of work on that car. Ultimately, I sold it because it was a waste of time, and I got my Fiesta while fixing it.

3. 1997/2000 Lexus ES300. Luxury little car. I liked both a lot. They both had their quirks. the 97 had really awful noisy suspension. It was completely blown out. It was also crashed 10 years prior to my ownership because of my uncle, but was still a "clean" title. My 2000 had the dreaded knock sensor issue in the last month of my ownership, until I bought the 07 cobalt. Those cars were quiet, rode smooth (the 2000 rode more smooth than the 97), and no awful complaints there.

I only see myself in a Fiesta ST for the foreseeable future. Maybe a Focus RS for the AWD, space, and aesthetic. Once my FiST dies, it's a 50% chance I'll get into another one, just at a significantly lower mileage mark. Maybe without a moonroof.

Yep, that whole rod bearings every 50k-ish thing put me off, or having to grind the crank to use bigger bearings to solve the issue. $$$$ all the way around. S54 had goofy rod bearing issues too, as do a few other of their engines of that era.

Yeah, I just didn't want to have to deal with that.
