New to Fiestas, but not to Fords

Hey, Im about to test drive and possibly buy a used 2018 Fiesta ST and I have a question about this whoosh logo. I looked up whoosh motorsports and didn’t see anything that resembled the gold color on the air intake tube and it doesn’t look like the stock so can Anyone identify what this is? And if so what else should I look for when I’m test driving and inspecting the car. It has 87k miles. Thank you all.

It's gold tape with the intention to prevent heating up the intake. It probably has a metal crossover pipe; it could potentially be whoosh or other brands. The silicone tube is whoosh. I could be wrong but it looks like there's also no stock air box for the filter.

Thanks and forgive me for not introducing myself on my first post, at that time I didn’t see the car and wasn’t sure when I did, it would be worth it, but it was a deal so I took it. My name is Jason and I’m the proud owner of a 2018 Fiesta ST. Bye 2008 Saturn Astra XR. It has an air intake tube that’s heat shielded and says whoosh motorsports on the intake tube the actual air intake goes behind the light and seems to go down into the front bumper. The name on it says Peron Engineering Perfection.

Would this air intake need to be tuned? And if so what is the tuning device used for this? I new to the fiesta turbo game, so don’t beat me up yet! 😆 How would I know if the car is tuned? The waste gate is vey loud and cool as hell. My son and I just drove around to hear it and this thing does boogies.Thanks again for your help!

You also have Rally Armor mud flaps on that super clean '18.

That's the blow off valve, or diverter valve you are hearing, and it sounds like it is a vent to atmosphere by your description.

Neither that, nor the intake, nor even an aftermarket exhaust or intercooler need to be tuned for in order to run properly.
It is really only when you get into bigger turbo setups and ethanol blend fuels that you definitely must have a tune to keep from grenading the engine.

Many/most do get the Cobb Accessport hand held tuning device so that they can download either 'canned' or custom tunes (<-but most will say that the more co$tly and involved custom tunes are a waste on the stock turbo), and then upload them into the car's ECM, even for relatively stock, minimally modded, factory turbo rides' engines for a bit more power and torque (especially with E30 fuel blends).
