Haha thanks! Maybe my question wasn't precise enough, I was asking if that exact adapter is going to fit with the shift knob I want, considering that the adapter might be made mostly for ball shifter, and the samurai sword guard is larger than the adapter.
Its a flat cylinder. So if you can have a flat spot the size of a toonie (that's right a custom Canadian answer!) it will be fine. It does accept the sphere but even the ball has a flat spot.

The knob is a lot larger than a toonie and looking at the installation video from Spool tuning on Youtube, I am scared that I won't have enough space to screw it on, like on this picture:

But if I have enough space like in the following picture, that would be perfect:

Since I don't have the adapter, I don't know how much space is left after installation :/

andrewzorz The Toonie reference was to the diameter of the cylinder.

In image 1 the lockout spring is pushing up on the adapter and which is not screwed in. The spring is meant to push down on the lockout when the knob is in place. In picture two the adapter is screwed down in place (or near in place). Once you put the knob or anything else you use the adapter as a lock nut.

That all said this particular adapter has a 1/8" (~2mm) lip see picture:

You could grind that down to have a flat surface.

Here is a picture pre knob install.

Now if you want I could take mine off tonight and snap a picture and take a measure should you wish. (might at lunch if I am bored)

Hmm maybe I can score one of these at the CJ's event in a few weeks. Those Flossy knobs looks so nice though, decisions.

I will try to do a photo after work today.
From a lower angle you will see it.

In the meantime look at the photo of the green one closely.

Which website did you get your adapter? All the websites I looked at looks kinda sketchy :/

I didn't like them either as they don't cup the ball correctly.
So, I made my own.

FYI, this adapter from Blox does not work for us, it is just barely too big, not fitting into the "cup" of the reverse lockout.

Suggest using the Torque Solutions one which has been proven to work fine.

Blox Racing Spherical 490 shift knob and torque solutions adapter. Love this set up, raised the knob an inch or a bit more.

Perfect in the hand and shifts are a tad bit smoother.

I changed to a 625 gram knob (http://www.sweetknobs.com/?cat=10), removed the silver part of the reverse lockout, cut it down, removed the black part of the reverse lockout, cut it in half and shortened it. Now the entire assembly hides under the shift boot. This allows the knob to seat properly and gets rid of what I think is an eyesore of a lockout.

I just ordered a custom Grabber Orange with black shift pattern from Speed Dawg. Can't wait to receive it. BTW, they take custom orders, and offer an insert engineered for our reverse lockout. They're super easy to deal with also. They gave me the go ahead ln my custom order in like a minute. Great folks!
