I’m going to swap an engine from a wrecked 2018 fiesta st into a 2016 fiesta st.

anything to consider or look out for in this process or should it be pretty much as plug and play as possible?

Just FYI the 2018 is not the same as the 2016. I found out the hard way when attempting to buy parts to swap over.

Interesting* Mine is a 15 with an 18 engine in it now with no issues whatsoever.....[driving] What parts were the issue?

Parts places won't necessarily know if the engine was altered (different turbo for example) on the original engine.

Based commentary from Microsoft's chat bot, @FiestaaaST might be referring to the EVAP system? This could entail programming changes; not just hard parts.

This answer merely leaves more questions...
