I don't think the RCM disables torque vectoring. Unplugging the RCM disables the airbags and crash detection, which includes the auto fuel pump shutoff. To my knowledge, disabling ABS (either by pulling the fuse or unplugging an ABS sensor) is the only way to completely disable TV. I would love to be wrong on that, as going without ABS is a PITA.

As for brakes, I don't know what is up with mine. My car is gutted and presumably very light, but I burn the brakes up - whether using stock calipers or the Wilwood BBK. I have air ducts, but it doesn't matter. I was forced to use HPS pads on the stock front calipers once, and they lasted one 20 minute session before disintegrating.

Well, I've just ordered a set of canards exactly like yours for my ride. I've been looking for canards that wont get in the way of my planned extended arches for quite some time and yours fit the bill nicely, so now I've got a set of my own coming. Thanks for the link! (y)

Man I thought I was hard on brakes 😂

Regarding the TVC and the RCM, I was regurgitating info received in a PM from someone reputable and they said TVC was gone but ABS still worked. I have not tested this so I cannot confirm but it’s simple enough to verify. We also are uncertain if the Fiesta ST has inertia switches on the fuel pumps from Ford. I can’t find them if they do.

I baked my paint. Also my fluid.

How people don't have the same issues as me I'll never understand.

Yea, given having the ABS fuse pulled still resulted in burning through BP-30s in three track days, I’ll be plugging it back in for tomorrow’s track day. Went back to DTC-70s for tomorrow, though previous experience doesn’t have them lasting any longer for me.

My theory is that the small contact surface just gets too hot - even with a BBK. I have G-LOC R18s on order, as they have a rating of up to 2100 degrees, and a optimal temp of up to 1700 … which far exceeds the DTC70s and BP30s. I’m hoping that means they last much longer despite my abuse. Will see.

As for TV …. In previous track days, I *thought* I felt the TV kick in despite the RCM disconnected and despite the Wavetrack LSD, but maybe I was wrong. With ABS disconnected, you can be 100% sure, but it really is a PITA to not have ABS on the track.

Remind me, do you have a LSD? That changed my pad consumption significantly.

@Woods247

I’m at the track now. I plugged ABS back in and the TV immediately reared its ugly head, despite the RCM being disconnected.

So, no doubt now for me that disconnecting the RCM does not affect TV.

It's so cool to see a FiST in the group with all those cars that are probably worth 4x as much!
It’s always the odd car out. Always. Almost everyone I catch is respectful and usually lets me pass within a few turns. Most of those cars have significantly more top end so they have to let me stay ahead of them on the back straight for 1/2 lap.

A slightly larger turbo and more fuel would be better. I really dislike getting passed lol. Some would say I drive the wrong car. I disagree. My car’s power to weight is fantastic. I just need a little more power to push through the aero drag (mods for mods 😂).
And I could care less if it’s FWD or AWD or RWD. It’s about who’s driving the thing.

It’s taken me a lot of hours to figure out FWD. RWD is so much easier but this car always surprises me. I drifted out too far coming out of 10b at WOT, connected with the massive outside curbs and they through my car sideways just before the bridge while going whatever speed 3rd gear tops out at 😂. I just counter steered, stayed in it, didn’t die and had the hugest grin on my face for the next 20 minutes. The dude in the GT4 I passed going into 10a must’ve thought I was gonna die.

I baked my paint a while back.

I use Red Line RL-600 and it holds up very well, but I'm only doing 3 sessions at Track Night.

RBF600 or 660. Never problems with the fluid. I kill the brakes, but they always work even when overheating.

@Woods247 back when yo ran a 215/40. What tire pressures did you run on track?
For the 660 I was usually 31 hot front and 32 hot rear but sometimes adjusted higher by 1-2psi if needed.

I see you've got running boards fitted. Do you have to remove them in order to put your car on a jack?

Also, just to let you know, yesterday I got an e-mail telling me that my canards are on their way! Looking forward to getting them painted and fitted to my own FiST!
