If I had more room, weight allowance, I would have the race tires and wheels, a sticky set of summer only tires, probably the AS3 and some winter tires.
lol, sounds like my garage / tire shack.

I used to be active on three but settled on this one and seldom go to the others now so I understand.

The issue with 16's is even fewer wheel options.....(

I can only find one low weight 16x8 but not even sure if they would fit over my BBK up front though I have 15's the RPF1 design is pretty tight in that part of the wheel.
RAAM - you need an 8inch wheel for what reason? There seem to be a decent chunk of lightweight 16" wheels otherwise....

Kumho ecsta 4x are ultra high performance tires and are pretty darn good. Had them on my TL for about a good year including winter snow before it got traded for my FiST and i had no complaints for a jack of all trades but master of none tires.

Going with a set of all-seasons and 17" wheels from tirerack for my winter setup. It snows often here but it's plowed and salted right away. I can't stand the look of anything less than 17's on the car, and all seasons fit my budget more than snows.

This is the best forum.

I plan on putting the AS3 on my ride too.

Late to this party, but another data point:

When I got the car in May, I immediately swapped off the stock tires (sold them to local ST owner) and got General G-MAX AS-03s. I bought mine from Discount Tires.

I would not drive them on snow or ice, but I have winter wheels/tires on our other vehicles. When it's really cold (icy) or there is snow on the ground, this car will stay in the garage. Not going to even buy chains for this car (all our cars have had chains for the past 20+ years, so that's a little bit of change for me).

These were fantastic plowing through standing water about a week or so ago on SR 520 near the Redmond MSFT campus. Everyone slowed down from 60 to maybe 40, and the water was just flying off wheels. Car was planted. Handled and stopped very smoothly. These pump a ton of water. So really great 3-season tires for wet climates. They were fine for the few summer drives I took on this car. But I would not use them at the track unless there was torrential rain. Then again, I'd just probably drive home and write the day off in those conditions.

BUT: in Michigan, if you must drive this car in the winter, I'd totally agree with folks recommending dedicated winter wheels and tires. There are bunch of options is the skinny, smaller wheel sizes. And skinny, of course, is good on the snow and ice.
