Guessing 36,995 give or take a few obnoxious markups. I neer buy 1st cut so I'm realistically looking at them a yr or 2 after they hit the lots. Plus I still MUST live my FiST with an s280 fire in its belly
That's a fair guess. Initially, they were talking sub 30... but I suppose a lots changed.

Sounds like you actually went to a dealer in person before setting a price, not a good way to shop price. Online email buying stops the lies and BS and agreements are in writing, they do not even get my phone number until we have agreed on price and I am making a deposit. With the limited options on a FiST before the end most walked away with big rebates and large price drops.

All dealers are snakes and are not Ford, they are a private business. Be willing to drive a little to save, local dealers here think that a good price is taking off all the add-on charges they added over sticker!
Nah, I settled on a price with the dealerships by email before going. Confirmed the exact amount for OTD, got the cashier check and everything. They tried to screw me at the dealership once I got there. I don't trust dealerships PERIOD. Scam artists through and through.

For example, one dealer confirmed VIN # and availability of an ST for $xx,xxx price via email. Only when I agreed to buy at a lower pricce they changed the VIN # to an ST-Line they had on the lot without telling me.

This might be the best awd performance car we'd get without breaking the bank. Grateful for this option even if not quite ideal as the Yaris.

Only other comparable option out there would be the mk8 golf r, now with the demise of the STi, and that seems to come with its own compromises. Hoping Toyota executes this well enough that it can be a succesor to the Evo.

Yes, I ALWAYS want smaller, lighter, and tighter wheelbase given the same or similar power levels. [driving]

But I guess some really do need the 'utility' of a larger platform, and/or more doors (like many on here who would've taken the 4 door FiST over the two door even if they had that choice).

You wouldn’t buy either lol. In my opinion, everyone in the Fiesta ST market would’ve chosen the 3 door over 5. It looks much better and the back seats are useless anyways. My two small kids didn’t even fit comfortably back there since I’m tall. They fit fine in a Corolla hatch though. The Corolla is also smaller than most other fast family 4 door options. And it’s a real Toyota. If the Yaris were here, my Fiesta would be gone and that would be my track toy. I’d still buy a Corolla too and retire my truck as a daily. When the new Corolla hatch was released I fell in love. It was just too slow for me though. No anymore..

It’s funny that you mentioned the 3 door vs 5 door issue. When I first purchased the Fiesta I wanted the 3 door just like my old GTI because of the looks. But than when the children came along the extra doors became easier for the kids to get in. Now it’s the wife with her 2 series (2 door) that the kids struggle to get in with.

Lets see if Toyota allocates enough to the market. The Circuit edition sounds sharp. Gives me an extra year to see how the this thing does.

The base edition w/ the performance pack looks very appealing. With autocross spaces in the area becoming virtually non-existent due to increasingly expensive land, track days are the only alternative and the Corolla is prepped for that out of the box in ways the FiST can never be without some very extensive changes that I am not willing to dive into myself.

Thought you were buying my Typhoon Jeff! Sheesh!
Man....I love that car. But I decided to keep the CRX and I can't handle two old ones. Plus this GR has me feeling the exact same way I felt in 2013 when I started reading about the Fiesta ST. That means something.

The only question is keep or sell the ST? I love my ST. Would love a GR too.

Haven't seen anything leaked regarding pricing, watching closely today like all of us hahaa. I'm gonna cry when they say $40K o_O
Everything I am reading is pegging 40k . Could this replace my FiST not sure jury would be out till driven.
Pro’s 300 hp 3 banger
manual trans
a real Toyota which means quality Japanese build ( sorry Toyota but a BMW collab on the Supra was a super big turnoff and this is coming from a BMW owner lol)
AWD

CONS
going to be upwards of 40k when all is said and done
is for intensive purposed IMO uglier than the current Corolla Hatch ( sorry Toyota but the hood bulge and the gaping mouth designed the way it is do not the car any favors.
coming in at 3250 lbs 300 whp will not feel all that fast. It really needs about 400 hp for the weight it is to maintain a fast power to weight ratio.

So in my opinion the car has one more pro than con on paper yet one has to get over the ugly get over the weight and get over the price to warrant it a purchase.
That strongly puts me in the impressed but ya no category.
It would have to drive as well or better than a FiST and honestly thats a tall order as the fun factor of the FiST is off the charts and it looks good to boot.
This has all the markings of the FoRS price, weight , except the FoRS looked really good where this looks like something drawn out of High School kids dream rally car notebook.

Sorry it that comes out harsh to some it’s just how I feel .
I always felt MS3‘s were ugly due to their hood bulge and I have a smiley face facia .This is like a MS3 dropped acid ate nuclear waste and had a baby.

So ya not feeling it so much as some of you.:ROFLMAO:

The GR Yaris did pull it off better than this IMO.
