Just because you're strengthening the internals doesn't mean you're also running out of fuel...
of course it doesnt. but opening up the motor to make modifications (stronger components) implies (at least to me) that there is a need. Which would imply a lot more boost, bigger turbo etc which implies additional fuel. and the current fuel system seems to be limited to around 300whp or thereabouts.

i've been down this road myself with datsuns and subarus and for instance around 500whp a 2.0l or 2.5l subie needs stronger pistons and a pinned block due to the greatly increased stress. perhaps apples to oranges but you can go to around 400lwhp on a stock block, assuming you have a strong enough trans.

i guess my question is if you are not running a LOT more hp, why open the motor up to begin with?

Because they are a piston company and they make money by selling pistons to people :)

They also make pistons and rods for the 1.0L Ecoboost, and I doubt anyone is pushing that engine to the limit yet.

nosir.. nitrous = infinite O2. and if you dont match it with INFINITE fuel pop goes the weasel. and if seen that happen more than once.
I mean nitrous is a way around direct injection running out of fuel at xx horsepower.
For instance... If you had a 300whp fiesta and added 100shot, it would make 400whp.

You'll need extra fuel for the sauce though!
