How can I convert this over to the original style or even just find a replacement “egg” style one. No luck finding one anywhere

I'm fairly certain you have the pre-recall tank. Regardless here's what I found:
Post-Recall Tank: https://www.ford.com/product/radiator-overflow-tank-p4000033253
Original Tank: https://www.ford.com/product/radiator-overflow-tank-p4000028623

Looks like you might need to change a coolant line when you replace the tank, but I'd recommend doing it anyway. Old coolant lines can get brittle (especially the plastic upper line, I snapped mine and watched my car bleed coolant everywhere while trying to rip the symposer off)

Ron also has every coolant line that comes off the reservoir in a kit:

I haven't priced out buying all the parts individually, but I have found that Ron tends to add an upcharge to any OE part.

Think you may have them switched Switchback. I've had the recall done and mine is egg-shaped. the one you have marked post-recall is the one that is no longer on my car.

to the OP, i'd make sure if you swap to the new one, you include the coolant level sensor and all the stuff if it's not there already. and if you've got the old one, you won't.

My 2016 had the non egg tank and wasn’t covered by the recall, and the 2019s have the same tank. Also my 2015 had the recall completed and has the box tank.

I thought the recall was more for the sensor at the hotspot location on the 2014/2015 engine blocks and less about the tank?

Hey! I'm in the same boat, and relieved to see this thread is from APR 2026!! I have searched throughout this forum and I've found two others that asked this, one person that apparently did go from the recall (egg) tank back to an aftermarket pre/post recall tank and deleting the recall sensor (COBB tunes delete the check and CEL). But no one actually has said what new(old) hose goes where, or what that process is for egg to pre/post. I too have a dead 'egg' reservoir that came out of a 2014 recall. I too cannot find a new egg to replace it. Fingers crossed the regular pre/post (I bought the whoosh one because it has the hoses) reservoir is simple enough to figure out. I'll be sure to post back and say how it works here, for posterity and put out some actual info to others that have googled their way here.
