A tune will fix a lot of the little annoyances like reduced boost in 1st and 2nd and smoothe out boost delivery. But isn't this FiST the one with the Livernois tune already on it?

I know it dumps boost with any throttle lift off. if you hold the traction control button instead of just pushing it once the traction control is fully defeat able

No tune, I just got it yesterday and have only put 10 miles on it lol. I have fully defeated the ESC. I am not talking loss of boost but actual throttle closure when braking with the left foot and applying throttle. It won't let you do both.

Deals good, picked it up today well kinda lol. Drove to work in my FoST and left in a FiST.

Question though, Left Foot Braking? My FoST didn't like it with everything off b ut in sport mode it would let me, seems the FiST cuts throttle no matter what. Will a tune fix this? I know the Rs was the same way as well.
Yes, DHM can hook that up for you when you get a tune. I'm not sure if other tuners do it.

I did not know that about our ECU programming. [:(]

I hope that Alex at Stratified can fix this as well in their pro tunes.

Any tuner worth a damn will tune the throttle closures out.

I disagree. Throttle closures are a part of the OEM boost control architecture...a tuner should utilize this function in conjunction with WGDC to manage spool and boost logic. However, you shouldn't feel it. In other words, it's not a bad thing. Not only does it help spool, it also helps driveability. For some tuners it's something they'd rather not waste their time figuring out. A certain tuner (I don't feel like arguing) was schooled by a reverse control engineer not too long ago. Ultimately, it comes down to your car and it's configuration. In the case of brake boosting, if you ask for it, the tuner should be able to do it.

I apologize for the generalization. When I think of throttle closures, I'm referring to running WOT and suffering losses in power or a herky jerky power delivery caused by throttle closures. Those should not be in any tuners tune. I've felt them in various iterations of different tunes, but my current tuner has always spotted them as well as my feeling them and tuned them out so that my car is giving consistent power through out the pull. In terms of braking and boosting at the same time, and dealing with throttle closures, I have no knowledge on that front.

Yes I agree, and asking this question I'm getting the feeling people are unfamiliar with Left Foot Braking lol. Your the first to correlate the two with brake boosting, although I use it for vehicle dynamics and car control over spooling in a roll race :)

Like you stated I am not talking about Throttle closures although that is what is happening, throttle cut would be a better term as throttle closures are more linked in the industry to what you described.

Now it is a matter of driving my car to rid the fuel tank of whatever was put in it lol. Then time for the tune :)

Yes, "brake boosting" for drag race launches are VERY VERY different from "left foot braking" used in autocross/road racing. [wink]
