I will have a tutorial started on sound deadening soon, I specialized in it for 15 years and figured a few things out, especially cost effective, low weight, area by area what needs done and what does not need done. I shipped tens of thousands of packages around the world before I retired myself from it and have had many win championships in sound quality using the products and my methods(more intense for audio comp but not needed for a street car unless the main goal is audio over anything else.

The only foam I use is Pur Fil from Todal in Germany, expensive, messy, lots of prep, adds great strength the chassis, etc...
I am not likely to ever do it again, I said it the first time with just a few cans and many hours but we did our Scion tC, one long week, 360 liquid oz, car was stiff as a fully caged race car when done, then we caged it.

I have seen a brand new expensive car go to the body shop for $5k in repairs after expanding foam warped the rocker panels, it was not covered by insurance. It also can trap moisture and cause rust.

Pur Fil uses the moisture to help it cure, actually you spray some water in before the foam.

I used "great stuff" in my zx3 2001 focus and it worked great. I didn't go crazy with it though. Just the seems.

I also saw it bust the supports on a trunk lid....

It can be used in limited areas just fine but be very careful in doing so.

I have methods that get the job done without the mess, curing time, etc....but I will consider foam, even the cheap stuff.... as I go along and if I find a need that can be safely done I will add it to the tutorial:)

Here is a quick side shot. I only drove it for a couple minutes after the install to make sure of no issues. It will probably settle a few more mm after a little driving.

The mountune site says a 5% increase in stiffness front and rear. It definitely feels stiffer but not bad. Here is a side pic....note that my driveway is an incline... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407708764.464870.jpg

Also, be warned, whoever does their own spring install, the fronts are a pretty straight forward McPherson swap, but the rear are ridiculously easy and almost dangerous, lol. Once you remove the two bottom shock bolts, the factory springs will fall out...I don't mean easy to pull out...I mean literally fall on the floor. Make sure to use a jack to hold everything up and slowly lower once the bolts are out.
