Yep the escort had 88 horsepower and it was a tin can. Sheetz has E15, 88 for $2.69.
I will never understand why people buy gas guzzlers when gas is cheap, do they not think of the future I sure do. Almost everybody around me drives a suburban, or something of the same size.

I looked long and hard at pony cars before I bought the fist, but it was maybe 5-6 years ago that gas was over $3 a gallon here in Texas. I commute too far to daily a V8. Our ram promaster is a V6, and gets about 16mpg. Next car we buy will be a hybrid or EV.

Installed whoosh shifter bracket bushings and power flex street insert on driver side Mount. Paired with the vibra technics passenger mount shifting feels so much smoother and crisp. Only a slight slight increase in vibration, would definitely recommend

Finally got everything in and working.

FYI. The 20MM spacers can def be felt. The car is very “twitchy” when it comes to the steering feel. It wants to dart left or right on its own. Seems like the road imperfections grab the wheels and change there direction. It happens even without spacers but it’s super magnified now. You actually have to hold onto that wheel like if your life depended on it 😂 (which it does) At least I know what widening the track that much does. (It’s not an imperfection of the spacers) They’re suuuuper high quality. Also very nice looking for just being spacers.

The car also had to be lifted 1 inch to clear.

Wheels are def on the top of the list right now.

I had a carbureted 5 speed 1987 Honda Accord.

When hurricane harvey hit we evacuated to Texas. I got 40mpg hand calculated almost all highway driving.

Amazing to me how that car got 40mpg and decades later we’re still struggling to meet those numbers.

Then again it had like 90hp.
What's truly amazing are the amazingly crappy mileage of performance motorcycles. They're like a fraction of the weight and don't have a compressor for air conditioning.

I'm hoping changing wheels will help fix this. The steering wheel also has a bit more vibration from the road and requires more attention when pushing the car a bit.

I was thinking of going 17x8 but after this I kinda want to keep 17x7 even if I have to add spaller spacers or at least 10mm not 20mm.

Is this how all the widebody FiST's feel? I think they've got like 35mm spacers and that would probably ride like doodoo.

You could go with one of the higher ET number 17x8 wheels, but the spokes would have to be very convex in order to clear those calipers/rotor bells.

Most on here loathe convex spoked wheels.

I might buy a pair of the OZ's to test and see how they fit. I think they're ET42 which is 7.5mm less than stock. I just dont know how the spokes would clear the brakes. But I figure if anything I could sell them if it doesn't work.

One of the AZ guys has a set of compomotives I'm considering because they're plug and play with no spacers needed. 17x8 i think ET35. But the sad thing is you cant really see the brakes through the spoke design which I guess is ok but I want to see them when I walk up to the car lol.

They get high 30s, low 40s, depending. That is, if you ride them normally in normal traffic. Sporty riding or track time, and you're talking 20 or worse.
That's terrible for how light they are. Then again, there's nothing like cracking the throttle on something with such a great power to weight ratio.

Whoosh hybrid showed up today (came with the airtec elbow).

Took car to Ford to look at hatch and passenger door under paint corrosion inside. They approved it for warranty in under an hour. Will be scheduling for new door and hatch after Jan 5th.

Any motor mount upgrades? I've seen A fist with stock mounts with so much play it causes noise. Usually easy to see if you just Rev up with the hood open and have someone record/watch engine.
