Installed a GFB DV+ Man, that was an adventure.[wrenchin] Went to Harbor Freight to get an extended length 5mm allen bit, and that was a good call -- it would have been very difficult without it. I was surprised and disappointed that the stock solenoid had a fair amount of tiny metal particles on it -- I'm glad to be rid of it and the brittle plastic that the DV+ replaces. I think it's a good upgrade even if the performance benefits are negligible.

I was going to check out if PennDOT has any program like this here (IF they would EVER pick up their phones!), but I very seriously doubt that, given how incompetent they are in general, and are ALWAYS claiming under-funding due to low taxes.
PennDOT actually has the exact opposite plan. They specifically prohibit payments for vehicle damage from potholes by law. 😒

Of course, I expect nothing less (more?) from this 'illustrious' state.

FORCE everyone to own/drive a car due to NO public transportation options whatsoever (at least in MY area), then neglect the roads completely, especially the ones with the heaviest 18 wheeler caused damages, and then put that much MORE burden on the car owners to fix the damages to their rides because of the roads that THEY refuse to fix.

Then they will fail you at their mandated YEARLY inspections (which they overcharge you for) for said damages, and force you to get inspected at private stations/shops where the owners are given the opportunity (on a 'captive audience') to seek out/'invent' false, not needed, HIGH PROFIT repairs in order to pass.

Yup, 'perfect' system. [:(!]

Car spent the night at Big Bear and got it back today. No clutch. Brake fluid was drained from broken seal. Clutch was stuck on the floor and it just happened as I was leaving and 1/2 a mile from off site parking from Bear Mountain. I’m glad it didn’t happen while I was driving down the mountain.

Finished the installation of my rear suspension and rear camber plates. 1/4” spacers, power flex bushings, new 2016 springs and bilstein b6 struts. Seemed to net ~3/4” but will likely settle some.

Replaced the tranny fluid with Ravenol and installed a Dimple magnetic plug. I realize there's a magnet built into the case, but I needed something to do on this 3-day weekend, so why not? ;)
I also have a Dimple stainless plug in the oil pan as well.
They really do have the strongest gauss, high heat resistant neodymium magnets in them. [thumb] (But yes, they are $$$)

tires.jpg she got some new shoes today. the tire shop here had a new offering, so I got them...toyo extensa HP II. Was originally going to try the Nitto neo gen until they added this to their stock. was pouring rain so I gotta good feel for them right off the bat and not too bad. its a mid level tire for budget friendly folks. couldn't afford the big names like pilot sports or even the oem, but I also didn't want a super budget tire like the sentry, milestar, nankang, or Westlake. now I cant wait for the rain to stop so I can wash all that goop off my wheels.

How are you liking the B6’s? Torn between those and Koni Yellows...

Looking to get the same set up - B6's with OE springs and the woosh pads. No lift, but I want to stay with OE height. How is it going?

^^^This is one of the only other HP/UHP all seasons made in a 205/50-16 (along with Toyo's Proxes 4, and yes their 'child company' ->Nitto's Neo gen) in an XL load rating, which I do suggest for those having to deal with huge craters in their roads. [wink]

I was going to order some Neo Gens today, but Tire America did not have them in stock, which is the ONLY WAY they would have honored their (exclusive to THEM, it seems) $100.00 off of four, discount/promotion going on now [mad]

^^^Now I am wondering if that same setup above, except swapping out the factory springs for Swift Spec Rs would still leave me at least as high as factory ride height?? [dunno]

TBH I hit a bunch of holes that I normally would hit on my commute to and from work and yeah i felt a big difference, at first i thought it was placebo effect, but the other tires were getting pretty old. shame tire rack didnt have your tires though.

Just have the Bilstein B6's in the rear installed right now. So far so good. Not a whole lot different then stock except for the following comments so far (I only have 150 miles on them):
- Harshness over big pot holes is reduced
- Overall firmness is equivalent to 2016 OEM dampers
- Rear grip seems much better anecdotally (more confidence inspiring)

The rear lift seems to add no difference in cornering feel or ride quality yet (which is good)

What's the consensus on the drop from those springs? I could make you a spacer equal to that drop if your goal is OEM ride height.
