I am also considering going the MP215 route. Is it really worth so much extra money though? The MP215 kit says it raises hp to 215 and tq to 235. That's a pretty good increase. Does the AP even do that amount of increase? The AP is half the cost of the MP215 but it also voids the warranty. My stomach turns every time I think about something happening to my car and then ford not fixing it because of them noticing the ECU was flashed.

Consider the MP215 as a custom tune. The tune it has is not like the Cobb stage 1 OTS or even stage 2 OTS. I have had people drive my car that just have the Cobb OTS and were surprise by how much more the MP215 wakes up the car do to low end torque in 1st and 2nd. That said the cost is most definitely the warranty piece of mind, the extra parts (air intake) as well as the tune being CARB ceritified. If those are of value then maybe the MP215 is the right direction. As for the Cobb AP it is super easy to flash it back to stock, and un marry (needed for oil life reset), and you will be able to resell the Cobb AP in the future recouping some cost. With the MP215 that is not possible.

For me I choose Mountune for the piece of mind, not having the "hide it from the dealer" (my mTune is permanently mounted) and the great product/support the Mountune badge carries.

That makes me want to get the mp215 even more now lol.

So do I just order the kit to my door then bring everything to the ford dealer and they will install it? That will make sure everything is still covered by warranty? How much was the labor cost? Are the Mountune lowering springs warranty safe too? And the Mountune RMM?

Most Mtune parts are Ford approved but not all. Go to the Ford Racing website (https://performanceparts.ford.com/search/fiesta) and anything with the blue check box is warranty friendly. That said even things that are not with the check box are usually okay as well (think spliter). Springs are not but you can speak with your dealer to see how they feel about it as it is changing the suspension angles. The RMM is ok but not listed as warranty (very easy to return to stock) so again check with dealer.

As for the install read this thread http://www.fiestastforum.com/forum/...o-install-MP-parts-without-affecting-warranty it explains that any certified mechanic can do so to register the warranty. What I have found is some Ford Dealers will not want to do this because they are not familiar with the Ford Racing process. I suggest you call the dealer first and talk to the service manager about Ford Racing parts and installation.

I was quoted 2 hours to install the tune and the air box from a dealer that does these regularly. check around and note that the warranty is covered even if not installed by Ford directly. For example you could even go to the Mountune headquarters for the install (might be a drive for you though, they are located in Carson). Last thing I will note; any mechanic I have spoken to that have dealt with Mountune parts are always gushing at how good the parts are and that there are never any fitment issues. That makes their lives easier.

Good luck and as I always state more you know the better you can decide.

^^^Yes, the main 'grey area' I have run into regarding the Mountune supplied/dealer installed parts, and the factory warranty is concerning the Quaife diff.

NO ONE was able to give me a definitive answer as to whether or not that part/installation (at a dealer) would, or would not retain the factory gearbox/drive train warranty. [???:)]

Either a Ford dealer, Mountune or an ASE certified mechanic has to install it. The MP215 can be purchased from Mountune or a Ford dealer. I bought mine online from Levittown Ford......they discount even the Mountune parts. Installation cost was in my car 1 case of beer, the mechanic was a friend! Figure one hour at an independant shop. You send pics of your invoices to Ford and it is noted on your car's records that it is installed and covered by your warranty. Yes it will cost you more than the Cobb and you have zero resale ability as it is mated to your car. The Cobb is also more flexible. So pick your poison.........better value or warranty safe?

Are all of the other tune 'slots' on the Mountune bought/MP 215 loaded, AP just non-existent?

In other words, can the Mountune bought, with the MP215 installed in it, AP device hold and install any OTHER custom tunes besides the 215 (like a regular old Cobb AP), or is it 'locked' to prevent that from being possible, and it just becomes an expensive scan gauge tool after the MP215 is in the ECU?? [???:)]

Or am I completely missing just HOW these Mountune MP215 loaded/supplied AP devices function? [dunno]

The Mtune device has many functions......I don't use them. I'm sure most others do.The Mountune site gives explanations of your upgrade paths and the multi function of the AP. I just have no need or desire to know these things or mount it with the cord plugged in. Upgrading from the mp215 to the (non warranty) MR230 will cost $225 for the Mtune device plus all the hardware, FMIC and hoses, Downpipe and Exhaust system. The 10-15 HP is just not worth $2400 plus installation to me. The mp215 costs about $78 per Hp increase. The MR230 with a guess of $3000 installed is $200 per HP! Too rich for my blood!

It only has one tune. But as stated it can go to the mr230. Personally only missing the Dp after buying lots of parts used and some new.

The mTune has other functions like 6 gauges, data logging obd2 code scanner, emission test system check.
