We understand your opinion, but respectfully disagree. I honestly think your history abroad and entering as an immigrant is interesting.

I was born and raised there. Lived at home until I left at 17. Came to the States in '86 and have been back for vacations when my parents were alive but never want to go back when I see the state of the country now! Cops are garbage, I used to be one there, murders are on the rise and you can't defend yourself! Lastly taxes are huge as you say. You can't even go into central London unless your car is low emissions! Forgot to add, that's SOCIALISM for you!
If I moved from LA, the only country I would like to live in is Germany. So clean, fantastic food, no speed limits on the autobahns, great beer, great wines. Expensive but I enjoyed the 7yrs I spent there in the Army! Three tours altogether.
You do realize that there's a lot of SOCIALISM in Germany, right?

He was there as part of the UK's military.

But yes, it is very easy to not see benefits and functions which would be taken for granted in most other nations than ours, as the dreaded, Reichwing 'boogeyman' socialism.

If it took you 60 seconds to read 243 words then you're reading about 4 words a second.

Multiple posts on the first page alone, were longer. I avoided going indepth or providing more examples. A simple, "we disagree" would've sufficed.
Actually it took way less than a minute to read it! I just threw that number out there!

my dad has an FiST built with s280 + 30% injectors tuned by TunePlus and he is considering getting a GRC... i told him from my experience that it would fit him better as he's a bit wider than me and 6 foot flat. he's heavily considering premium+ with 8DAT for his traffic-filled work commute but i'm trying to get him to test drive any GRC first before making any big decisions

maybe cross shop some of the competitors as well. the mk8 golf r and fl5 civic type r seem really nice. rs3 too if one can afford one. too bad they're all so expensive

Get favorite barbecue. Rent the car. Drop over with it. Lure to car using barbecue. Offer to let drive. See if can resist making steering wheel sticky.

First glance of the FiST and I loved it. There's something about the styling for these heavier and larger alternatives that would require some "getting used to" with an eventual "it grew on me" kind of expression. But mainly I love the FiST for its balance between size/practicality/performance/weight.

The M2 CS is really hot, but yeah $$$$$$, and not exactly a 'long term' reliable ride at all.
Still, one of the only Bimmers I ever really liked the aesthetics of, along with insane performance, albeit still (like all of the current offerings from that company) a bit too 'portly', and not as 'tossable' as the lighter compact rides still on the market, even with it's power and performance.

he seems either dead set on GRC for the "toyota" reliability or splurge and get a 10spd ZL1
I have a 18 or 19 zl1-1le in manual. those cars are thief magnets right now. had mine stolen last year but recovered within 24hrs in relatively good condition. you can get some anti theft solutions, but be prepared to spend maybe 1-2k or so on them.

cars that are thief magnets gives one more anxiety driving around parking the car, and not knowing if it’ll still be there. Ive not driven mine in a year and a half!

note that its not super practical given I barely get 12mpg. no real cargo room either.

that being said, they are super fun and very fast for sure. they were the best bang for the buck performance car back in 2018-2019 when they were discounted, thanks to GMs practice of making way too much of them. aftermarket potential is also very high and on a totally different level compared to most newer cars.

super oddball one would cross shop a corolla gr with a zl1. to have both would make more sense. saves one the hassle of having to decide.

I didnt care for g80 m3 and g87 m2 at first, but they’ve really grown on me. I may get a g87 m2 but too old and fed up with stick shift to get a manual transmission.

personal confession, Ive never loved driving manuals and always preferred automatics. I just put up with manuals because all the fun cars come with them. was delighted to hear the g87 has a good auto transmission.

weary is probably more accurate than ‘old’ if its something you never really enjoyed doing and find a chore, it gets old. sorta like LA traffic. wow has it gotten bad in the past 3-4 years.
