Ah the old COVID TP joke. 😁
Even small Li-Ion battery fires are said to be incredibly difficult to extinguish and require class D.

I guess the COVID TP joke is before my time here! ;)

Desperation is definitely not a joke, that TP really does reside there!

I road trip a lot, so that fire extinguisher is for a number of potential situations, even if not my own. I've driven up on and witnessed quite a few bad accidents. Always happy to be at the service of my fellow human and lend a hand! That's why I also carry a lot of "stop the bleed" supplies, including a CAT Tourniquet in my First Aid Kit. ;)

One of my favorite things to keep in every vehicle I own, is one of these Element Fire Extinguishers. They're compact, lightweight and pack 4x the punch of a regular 5lb fire extinguisher. I also got the optional magnetic mounting clip with the perfect mounting spot in mind! ;)

As you can see, I've got the essentials(minus my 1st Aid Kit not pictured) including small air compressor, ARB metal-handled tire plug repair kit and now the fire extinguisher! (y)

Oh, and the roll of TP. But we all know that's for potential emergencies too. Though, I gave up Taco Bell years ago so life is much more predictable these days.
Can that extinguisher handle very high in car heat, out in the summer sun with the windows closed, for long time frames??

I ask because I also want a couple of these. [wink] [thumb]

This is directly from the website:
Element has been tested to work effectively in temperatures from -140F to +320F. Moreover Element's solid construction and no moving parts makes it unaffected by harsh environments or humidity. Element can safely be stored in damp and wet environments, provided that the yellow cap covering the tip stays present allowing the tip to remain dry.

Then again don't take my word for it, here's a link to the Element Fire website! (y)

Halguard H3R is lightweight, no residue, blows hard and you can stand further away. It isn’t cheap though. I have one in my in front of the passenger seat.

New fire extinguisher tech is pretty cool. There are β€œbug spray” types as well that shoot foam or streams. There’s pretty convincing tests on YouTube for them. We have one of the Element sticks in our kitchen to suppress grease fires. Should be perfect since it doesn’t blow very hard. It would be awesome if they made a stick like a Roman candle that shot mini versions of those crazy fire suppression balls into a fire. I’m not sure how effective the existing version would be in windy places but it’s likely better than nothing as long as you’re on the fire immediately. The car fires I’ve seen become monsters quickly. Even the grass fires in early spring from cars pulling off track blow up quick. It’s pretty nuts how quick cars go up.

Yeah, at the NEFR 3 years ago, it did not take long for Ken Block's Escort Cossie RS to burn down to the unibody, and set 7 Islands' forest on fire in the process. [ohcrap]
LOTS of that professional fire suppression foam, shot from a fire engine is all that kept the whole woods from going up in flames.

Back on topic though.. I was doing track prep and decided to swap out my CPE resonator for a straight pipe. It’s waaaaay too loud lol. If I didn’t roll around on the street it would be fine but it’s definitely inappropriate for my neighborhood. The turbo spools sound so damn good though. And the fire balls ❀️

Spittin' fire out of the side exit pipe must look wicked! [deviltail]

The above mentioned Escort Cossie RSs in the WRC way back in the '90s, when set up for tarmac, also had side exits, and shot flames as well (maybe even more with their anti-lag systems on max). [wink]

I was considering the CP-E resonator delete for my Nexus system, thanks for that info on the painful noise level. [twothumb]
