Finally got around to washing and Collinite-ing (845) the little beastie today. [:)]

It rains every other day at least a bit around here (sometimes even just for a few hours at night, like I remember it doing back in Tucson regularly), then we get all of the effing tree pollen settling on the car, and that crap starts to etch into the clear coat. [mad]

So even though it will rain once again on Monday, of course, I figured I had to get this done today, just to protect the poor little thing.

This is an awesome setup-so to clarify,if any an comment-if I wanted to replicate this with a stock knob would I order the slim lockout adapter or standard?

Thank you I appreciate that. If you want to replicate with the raceseng extension you need the ‘slim’ reverse lockout. Shift solutions ‘standard’ lockout is identical to the stock lockout it’s just metal instead of plastic. Then you can put the stock knob or any 12x1.25 shift knob on the top of the extension.

Installed the Whoosh RMM, yellow version. The upgrade went smoothly, but the main bolts holding the OEM were very tight, had to use considerable force to remove them. It was surprising how soft the side mounts are when the rear mount is removed. Went for a 5 mile drive and the shifts between 1-2 & 2-3 are now crisp and solid, the little extra vibration is hardly noticeable. That being said, I would classify this as a subtle mod. If you're expecting an aggressive feel compared to stock, you may want to consider a different RMM.

I did not see any torque specs for this piece, but the youtube video I watched had 52 ft lb for the main bolts. Can someone confirm if this is correct?

Swapped to mbrp hotside, found out that dingus didnt re mount my intercooler when re assembling the car. I re adjusted my core support. And the the hood jumps up properly now. Im still waiting on new brackets from ford so i have a zip tie on one end and random bolts in the other good thing i habe tons of spares. But, yeah pretty annoying. Still dont know why AC doesnt work.

Those upper mid west winters are just BRUTAL on these poor cars. [:(]
Thats just surface rust. Its really not bad. Ill ger it rust proofed here the next time i pull things all apart. My focus was still solid after 12 years of outside parking in this state. Just some surface rust on underside stuff like this.

Did my RMM black and yellow whoosh yesterday, and just tightened the main bolts as tight as I could with a ratchet. Not sure on specs.

Definitely get the torque specs for the RMM bolt to the transmission - this was my issue when it snapped.

Got it thought!

Fuck. Yeah.

Was an insanely beautiful day where I live, so I spent some time outside messing around with the toys.

Started to gut the inside for new buckets, and long overdue stereo upgrade. Did the rear left component set for kicks. I was in a groove so unfortunately I did not get pics with the process. Just not happy about the speaker pillar connectors to the door. Will be drilling my own wire path next week I think. Then I took a break from that and finished the ceramic coat on my 2020 explorer... Suuuuper Slick.

Installed my cp-e intercooler today. Install was pretty easy. No trimming to the bumper, it fit just right. I did trim the center support brace but that's it. I took the lower grille out so I can see it better. It sure is pretty.

I then flashed my car with the Cobb stage 2 91 octane tune. Noticeable difference from stock but I wasn't really blown away. Some say it transforms the car. Not for me really. A difference for sure, but not the wow I was expecting
I saw a peak of 21psi. Not sure if that's good or not.
My charge temps started out pretty good, 1-2 degree above ambient. Then the car must have heatsoaked as I was seeing 10-12 degrees above ambient. Normal? It wasn't warm out, 75 degrees but it is a bit humid and I hit some traffic.

I'll drive it this week in my normal commute and see how it performs there. Then I'll be looking into a tune from maybe Dizzy or Stratified

Maybe do some data logging first before tearing it apart. The Cobb tunes are ok but with my Stage 2 Dizzy I frequently see 26.5 to 27.2 psi. And I’m in AZ with a Whoosh V3 Intercooler among other things. But you shouldn’t be heatsoaking with what you described. 10 to 12 above is not that high.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely not taking anything back apart.
I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm new to all this. I guess I expected the intercooler to keep it right at ambient. Sometimes I think I should just put the accessport away and not obsess on the gauge readings but where's the fun in that?

Yeah don’t let that thing (AP) freak you out. I’m pretty familiar and it can get to me at times. Maybe put it away and see what you notice on your own then plug it up to confirm. Do your research and ask questions. EVERYONE on this forum has been where you’re at and most will not mind helping another out. Best of luck!

FWIW, I've had my car on the dyno back to back runs with the pwnall intercooler (Cobb clone) and also the CPE intercooler. There's a reason I stuck with the CPE intercooler. Its a superior design.
