I have just spoken with a representative from 949 Racing who said they would be willing to make a special run of 4x108 6UL wheels for us!

I am very anxious and excited because this would open up a HUGE opportunity for those of us who don't want to bite the bullet on a hub conversion!

I will be running a poll here to see what choices and sizes we would prefer. Please let me know your opinions as I will be speaking with them back and forth about this group buy. Please vote only if you have genuine interest in buying a set.

GROUP BUY SIZE: 100 wheels or more (25+ sets) WE CAN DO THIS!

The email with them regarding the wheels states:
949 Racing said:
100 wheels.
Prepaid directly, not GB.
One size
One color
Non refundable
120 day lead time
We may be able to run more additional sets if other colors and sizes are desired.

Specs on wheels
Low pressure cast, flow formed monoblock construction
T6 heat treated
67.1mm center bore (we may be able to change that)
500kg max load rated
Double valve hole design
JWL approved
VIA certified
TPMS compatible
Durable painted and clear coated finish
Cap included, chrome with carbon logo
Valves not included

Wheel weight
15x7 +36 = 10.6 lbs
15x7.5 +42 = 11.2 lbs
15x8 +36 = 11.6 lbs

Color options
Silver

Charcoal:

Tungsten (my personal choice):

Bronze:

Nickel

Baryllium

Estimated cost per wheel would be roughly $200

I may also be mistaken about the available offsets, I'm pretty sure it's only +36 and +42 available. Can we have a moderator modify my poll options please?

I will confirm with them which offsets are available.

Darn, just bought new tires.

But I'm curious -- What is the cost?
The 'one size, one color' condition is a tough one...! Depending on price, I would highly consider Tungsten, closest offset to OEM (if it's 40 or 42). Flexible on size, but probably prefer 15x7. I voted for color and offset, but didn't vote for size since I'm flexible.

If we get enough interest we can probably do one 15x7 run and do one 15x8 run. That would be awesome.

If we can only do one run I'd prefer 15x7 so I could use them as daily wheels but I'll run with what the majority wants!

I thought the 17" Kosei's I bought yesterday were light at 16#

11#'s for these wheels are ultralight. Not sure if I have room for 3 spare sets of wheels in my garage.

I am interested in a set for the track possibly.

I'm ALL IN on this one. Wanted these wheels for a long time. Perfect size, perfect weight. Now we don't even have to do a 4x100 conversion!!! What more could you want?

Sign me up, but I'll only buy if it's 15x8 ..none of that 7" nonsense

Color and offset make no difference to me, but would +42 be a close fit with the 8" wheel?

I am very interested, but I am bad with offsets and such. Can someone break down how the wheels would poke or look factory on which offset? I know the factory ET is 47.5mm IIRC. So, a 15x7 with a +42 would be closer to factory than +36 correct?

I know these wheels tickle RAAMaudio 's fancy.

So after speaking with them, I found out something interesting.

These custom run of 15" wheels would run around $200 each since they would be making them from scratch. However, they WILL be releasing a 17" 4x108 version of their wheels in the next 6 months or so.

Take that for what you will. If you guys are still interested in these 15" wheels let me know.

I agree. Just wanted to make sure the price hike wasn't a concern. For the money per pound (or rather, not per pound) it is a hell of a price regardless.
