No, I'm in Texas. But the shop I work with loves MCS and convinced me to go to them. And yes, expensive but totally worth it. Even though my car's just a street car these days, I'm still very happy with them. You'd probably love a set, especially with spring rates tweaked for your aero. I'm a little jealous that you're local.


I've got 400lb/in springs in front and 350lb/in springs in the rear. But the reara are true coilovers not, not a divorced spring/shock setup like stock. It was initially 600/400 F/R, but the local streets were too rough for that.

Man that could be a looong discussion. I’ve had Pierce and TB Performance (twice now). The Pierce 6 point was most noticeable, but sat way too low. I had to remove it and reinstall TB Performance braces to create clearance for my splitter. Even then, I had to modify the TB traction bar to raise it up. With the amount of torque my car has, the Pierce 6 point was noticeably more rigid and managed torque steer a lot better than the TB traction and TB 4 point. There is a very good chance I’ll build a custom 6 point to regain that rigidity up front again. If I could still run the Pierce 6 point, I would. It’s awesome.

Recently, I added the Eibach sway bar kit front and rear. I like it but I think the cash should’ve gone towards a more tunable suspension setup. I love the 2J/BC/Swift multi-use setup I have now but I’d rather have MCS build me something custom that’s a bit more track oriented. If I had more appropriate suspension, I wouldn’t really need sway bars. With my current BC/Swift setup, I prefer the way the car handles WITH the sway bars. I have buddies who insist on disconnecting front sway bars for track use. It’s just driver preference.. On pavement, I can predict flat cars better than wobbly ones.

I also have a Piece torsion beam bar (and TB Performance). I’ve used both and I don’t think they do shit.. The Pierce has more contact points but I’ve tracked with and without it the same day and can’t tell a difference. Maybe they’re better suited for AutoX. Not sure.
What are your dampening settings for the BCs front and rear? I'm debating more and more to make the FiST more towards a track car.

What are your dampening settings for the BCs front and rear? I'm debating more and more to make the FiST more towards a track car.
I’ll need to ask Joe at 2J. He weighed the car then had BC build a set valved and sprung for it. The compression is adjustable (30 settings) and definitely makes a difference (no rebound control). Even two click is noticeably different on track. The springs are from Swift, rated at 7/5 I think. Honestly, they ride really good on the street and I can stiffen them up to easily at the track. Before I dump more cash into MCS, I might call BC and see if they have any suggestions. I’ve had a couple of issues over the years and they’re quick to respond and easy to work with. They even overnighted a rear shock to me once.

Mocked up the installation of my new Autopower roll bar. It’s being sent out for powder coating and should be back by the time my Bridgemoto seat and harness arrive. We are adding additional plates to provide a larger footprint to improve impact force distribution. The fitment of these Autopower race rollbars is absolutely perfect. I can also slide the seats all the way back without interference, so the fixed race seat should fit without any clearance issues. Picked up an OMP HTE-R halo seat. I’m STILL waiting for my Bridgemoto seat to show up. I decided I’d grab this from my buddy who never used it. I might keep it and mount the Bridgemoto on the passenger side. We’ll see.. The halo is definitely safer. This thing must weight 1/3 as much as my OEM Recaro too.

How tall are you? Any issues with the helmet and stock seat? I imagine the aftermarket options with lower rails give you better helmet clearance? Looks to be fixed mounting?

I’m 6’1”. No problems at all with helmet clearance. This seat sits a little higher than stock. I’m removing the sliders and mounting it fixed so it sits about an inch lower. I still clear the roof by 3” with my helmet on but I don’t like how high it sits.

Love how odd bodies & sitting positions are. I am 5'10", when racing I sit closeish to the steering wheel & pretty upright (with stock base seats) and I have to scrunch down a bit since my helmet hits the ceiling (moonroof)

Doing my damndest to get this thing ready for the SCCA TT next weekend. I pulled the sliders off and fix mounted the seat. MASSIVE pain in the ass with my XXL hands. Thankfully my wife could help reach the bolts to secure it to the mount. I shoved a 2.2 resistor into the airbag sensor connector and taped it thoroughly. All went well and the seating position is so much better. Definitely lower than stock now and the angle is better for me.

The roll bar is still on schedule for Wednesday and the harness should be here then as well. Hopefully we can get it in and tech’d before Friday. If not, there’s always next time.

Made progress on the rollbar today and should have it installed along with the seat and harness. The reinforcement plates were easy but that sound proofing shit is awful. It took hours to chip just a little away. We also primed and painted the plates with matching Oxford White paint. Even though it’s a track build, it’s gonna stay classy 😉

Next time try freezing it with liquid nitrogen and chipping it away. I'm interested in how you'll feel the cage with this car. Most flex is seen at the mounts of sub-assemblies, not so much the structure of the car itself.

I tried earlier this week with dry ice and the material in the spare tire well and the stuff under the seat came off fairly easily. The strip next to it along the exhaust put up a good fight, its going to take massive amounts of scraping to get the last 50% off lol. I'm going to try crushing the dry ice into a bag and adding rubbing alcohol

I thought about using dry ice but figured the area I needed to remove was so small, chipping it away with a hammer and a screwdriver then hitting it with a wire wheel would be fine. It was but it took way longer than expected. Coincidentally, the shop next to my buddy’s is a commercial ice company lol. I suppose I should’ve asked for a little. If I do it again, I’m definitely using dry ice.

More progress but it’s still not finished. The reinforcement plates are welded and painted, the roll bat is installed and bolted in, the carpet is cut and back in place, the eye bolts for the harness are mounted to the floor with 1/8” plates installed underneath and the seat spacers are finished. I need four longer bolts to bolt the seat to the Planted bracket. I’ll pick them up tomorrow.. Once I have them, I can install the OMP seat, Bridgemoto 6-point harness and the console. The rest of the interior will have to wait until next week. This is no quick job by any means. Everything associated with the roll bar and harness has been reinforced to meet or exceed any sanctions I decide to compete with. Here’s a few pics:
