Added DEI Reflect-A-GOLD to the lower of the two metal intake tubes in my CP-E intake:

Someday I should make a build thread...
I really like the wrap job that you did.

I was thinking of doing this to my intake tubes.
I then heard from someone, that although this does reflect and prevent heat from entering for a longer time.
Once the heat does get in it takes much longer for the heat to dissipate and is actually retained.

Please report back on how this works for you?
Specially over the long term of daily driving.

I think that's a valid point but the air moving through the tubes is a much more influential force on the tube temps than passive radiation into the already hot engine compartment.

Wouldn't it be better to wrap the crossover pipe that is just above the exhaust and turbo?
Or would it better to only cover the lower surface as Ford did on the OE pipe to prevent radiated heat from below and allow as much heat as possible dissipate through the unwrapped top?

Had my Eibach Pro Kit installed. Perfect amount of lower, very happy. Also ordered my green filter and Mountune induction hose.

I definitely should and will wrap that one as well. It's just harder to get to.

I would wrap the whole thing since it's aluminum and conducts heat amazingly well. I believe the factory heat shielding is there to protect the plastic more than to prevent transfer of radiated heat into the intake air.

I think that's the kit I'm going with. Looks to be the most promising without scrapping over every pothole and bumps.

Installed Dynamat in the hatch/spare tire well. My better half was less than pleased with the cabin noise post-exhaust install. I was like, "honey, what do you expect? It's a 20k econobox." Didn't go over too well and thus the install, LOL. I guess I'm always looking for projects anyway...
